Karaikudi Institute of Technology or KIT as it is popularly known as is an affiliated college situated in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu and was started only in 2011. This institution is recognized by the AICTE and this university occupies a large land area of 11.64 acres where technical education is provided with all the modern facilities. The total student intake strength at KIT is 507 students and the faculty strength is 130 students hence the institute has an optimal student: teacher ratio. It provides various types of courses including undergraduate and postgraduate in various academics of engineering and management.

The postgraduate offered by the institute are MBA, BE programmes and Discipline Master of Engineering (ME) in Manufacturing Engineering, Power Electronics & Drives and Structural Engineering. These programmes are offered to enhance and develop knowledge base and skills of students for a purpose of preparing them for top executive positions in their respective fields. 507 students are enrolled in this institute, which implements a policy of student specialisation that provides a more appropriate setting for the learning exercise.
