Karnataka College of Management and Science, Bangalore Admission Process

Karnataka College of Management and Science, Bangalore, is a college which offers undergraduate and postgraduate management and technology programmes. It is an NAAC accredited and approved by AICTE. The college has also designed a well-structured admission process to ensure that the right candidate is picked for the available programmes.

The admission cycle at KCMS usually runs in tandem with the academic year, which typically starts in July or August. For undergraduate courses like BBA, BCA, and B.Com, the eligibility criteria are the successful completion of 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board. For the MBA course, which is the flagship course at KCMS, a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university is a must. For MBA admissions, the college accepts scores from several entrance exams: KMAT, CAT, MAT, GMAT, XAT, and Karnataka PGCET.

Application Process 

Karnataka College of Management and Science, Bangalore offers different application processes for each program. General steps are listed below:

1. Choose a program (BBA, BCA, B.Com, or MBA) and check the respective eligibility criteria and admission requirements.

2. Undergraduate programs BBA, BCA, B.Com

 Fill up the online application form with all personal and academic details.

  •  Scan copies of necessary documents which are 10th and 12th mark sheets, a passport size photograph, and all other specified certificates to upload them.

3. For the MBA programme,

MBA:

Hold valid score in any one of the accepted entrance tests which includes KMAT, CAT, MAT, GMAT, XAT, and Karnataka PGCET.

  • Download the MBA application form from the KCMS website.
  • Attach scanned copies of graduation mark sheets, entrance exam score card, and other relevant documents.
  • Online payment for the MBA application fee.

4. Even after submitting their applications, there is a good chance that aspirants may be shortlisted for attending a personal interview or group discussion, especially in the case of the MBA programme.

5. The final shortlisting is done based on the candidate's academic scores, entrance exam scores (if applicable for MBA), and his/her performance in the interview/GD round.

6. Selected candidates will be sent an admission offer letter with details of fee payment and document verification.

Degree-wise Admission Process

BBA: The KCMS conducts approved intake 180 in the Bachelor of Business Administration programme. Admission is strictly based on merit in 10+2 or equivalent examination. However, the college may also conduct its own entrance test for BBA and consider scores from state-level entrance exams as well.

BCA: Bachelor of Computer Applications is another course for which approved intake has been sanctioned to be 180 seats. Eligibility to the above course is passing 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject or a three-year Diploma in Engineering from the Government of Karnataka or any equivalent examination. The admission process may be a combination of the performance in the concerned entrance tests and academic records.

B.Com: KCMS provides a course for B.Com for the students who are looking for a career in finance and accounting fields. B Com admission usually depends upon the performance of the candidate in 10 +2 with commerce or any related subjects.

MBA: KCMS has a permissible intake of 120 students under the Master of Business Administration program. The scores of all the entrance exams namely KMAT, CAT, MAT, GMAT, XAT, and Karnataka PGCET are accepted for MBA admissions. At least 60 percentile must have been scored by a candidate in any of the said exams for a successful admission.

The documents required at the time of admission normally are:

  • 10th and 12th mark sheets and passing certificates
  • Graduation mark sheets and degree certificate
  • Score card of entrance exams (for MBA Candidates)
  • Transfer certificate from the last attended institution
  • Migration certificate, if applicable
  • Caste certificate, if applying under the reserved category
  • Passport size photographs
  • Aadhar card, or any other valid ID proof
