Kongu Engineering College (KEC) is an autonomous college established by the Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust in 1984. The college is affiliated to Anna University Chennai. Kongu Engineering College provides 49 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level. Every year numerous students are provided with scholarships and financial aid by the college. In the year 2020, the scholarship amount of Rs. 2,11,860 was given to the students. Engineering College scholarships are offered to students with exceptional records in academics and sports. The students of the college can also avail a national level scholarship - Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS). The PMSSS is for Jammu & Kashmir students and aims at encouraging and empowering J&K students to pursue higher studies.
KEC Erode also provides awards to students with excellent academic performance. As per Kongu Engineering College scholarship policy, the top 5% of students from each class are given 50% tuition fee concession. Furthermore, AICTE tuition fee waiver scheme is also available for students. Every year full fee concession for the entire duration of the programme is provided to 25 students who have completed their education from government schools and are from economically backward sections.

Kongu Engineering college is an autonomous deemed by Anna university. The staffs are well educated and kind to help in everything we need. There were no fun sessions or activities except studying. College has every amenities and facilities and it will be greenish everywhere. It has good wifi and hygienic foods in hostels and in college cafeterias.

The placement cell of Kongu Engineering College keeps in touch with numerous businesses and invites them to hire students. It oversees all of the placement-related operations at KEC Erode.
