Kukreja Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, with the abbreviation KIHCMCT, was established in the year 2005. It is located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The institute is a co-educational affiliate of the All India Council for Technical Education that is offering education in hospitality and hotel management. Its campus is compact, covering an area of about 3.25 acres, and it currently houses 266 students enrolled under different programmes. With 17 dedicated professionals forming the faculty, it would obviously give the students personal attention and quality education.
Pride of place is taken by the state-of-the-art facilities at Kukreja Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology to enrich the learning process of its students. The library is stocked with more than 6,000 books of different topics and themes related to Hospitality and Tourism Management. There are also journals and periodicals from national and international sources. The Front Office and House-Keeping Laboratories are fully air-conditioned and facilitate simulation of hospitality to the students. Equally impressive is the IT Infrastructure: a computer lab with one-to-one computer-student ratio with internet connectivity to all students for the use of technology. This institute also provides well-equipped boys' and girls' hostels that are available at a walking distance from the institute, especially for those students who need accommodation. All the basic facilities, ranging from power backup to water heaters, have been provided in these hostels so as to create a comfortable living condition. Courses related to hospitality management are being imparted almost in every field.
The academic portfolio at KIHMCT includes full-time courses of degree level such as B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Master of Hotel Management, and various Diploma courses in the specialised areas of Food and Beverage Service, Bakery and Confectionery, Food Production, etc., which has an approved intake of 420 seats collectively. The programmes are of three to four years for the bachelor's degree, two years for the master's, and two for the diploma course.
