Maharana Pratap Government College, Amb Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College is stocked with 11,795 books on different subjects. It subscribes to seven daily newspapers and thirteen periodicals. Soul 2.0 software has been installed in the library computer and the process of internet networking is in progress Besides this one more library functions in the Self-Finance Department for BBA and BCA students. It has a subscription of four periodicals and 1071 books in stock.

The college has almost every facility to organize all the games, which are organized by H.P.University. Sports Various facilities are provided to the students to participate in different games Weightlifting Boxing Football Volleyball Cricket Judo (M&W) Kabaddi (M&W) Wrestling Chess.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has a Swimming Pool facility for the students.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.

To inculcate the feeling of dignity of labor and selfless service amongst students, two NSS units are enthusiastically functioning in the college under the supervision of Dr.Suruchi Sharma & Prof.Shyam Kalia. Various activities were arranged in the college

1. On 20th July 2018 Tree Plantation drive was organized in the college under the supervision of Smt. Alka Sharma, Principal of the college, students planted saplings of different varieties.

2 . NSS Pakhwara was celebrated in the college w.e.f. 1st August, 2018 to 15th August, 2018.

3. On 27th August 2018 a rally on “Drug Abuse” was organized under the supervision of SDM Amb, Sh. Sunil Verma.

4. On 10th September NSS volunteers learned the use of Fire Extinguishers in a workshop on “Disaster Management”.

5. Swachta Hi Seva activities were organized w.e.f. (12th September, to 24th September, 2018)

6. On 29th September 2018 Surgical Strike Day was celebrated, where in students made cards and wrote letters to soldiers.

7. On 1st November 2018 “Albendazole” was administered to students of the college.

Nss seven days camp was organized w.e.f. 20th December, 2018 to 26th December, 2018. The last day of the camp gained significance as volunteers actively distributed eatables, stationary materials, and clothes to the slum-dwellers, who gleefully accepted these from them. All activities were done under the supervision of Smt. Alka Sharma, Principal of the institution.

The Career guidance and placement cell of the college functions to provide guidance and assistance for the students to achieve their career goals. It provides awareness of Higher Education or Studies, Self-employment and Job opportunities. The cell works under the guidance of Dr.Sunil Dutt Sharma.
The Principal and faculty extend their wholehearted support to the functioning of the cell.
Various lectures and workshops on career guidance were conducted during the session 2018-2019

A lecture on “ Career in Govt. Jobs and Interview Skills” was delivered on 23rd March 2018 by Mr.Sahil.
On 6th April 2018 a lecture on “Communication Skill and Personality Development” by Ms.Sonika and Mr.Anil Verma.Assistant Professor of Computer Application.
A workshop on Skill Development Programme was conducted on 8th August 2018. Kaushik Sharma was the resource person for the workshop.
Dr. K. K. Sharma, Dean of Chitkara Business School delivered a lecture on” Career Counselling avenues for BBA & BCA students” on 20th December 2018.
A lecture on “Smart Talk, Career Counselling & IELTS” was delivered by Ms.Pooja, Head of Smart Talk Institute.
On 28th December 2018, a Rajgar Mela was organized in college with ANV Solutions Company of Chandigarh. Five students were shortlisted. Aman Sharma of BCA 6th sem., Megha Sharma of BCA6th sem., Shradha Sharma of BCA 6th sem. Were selected by the company for three months scholarship based training on Web Development and Digital Marketing.
Dr.K.K.Sharma,Dean of Chitkara Business School delivered a lecture on” Career Counselling avenues for BBA & BCA students” on 20th December 2018.
