Mahatma Gandhi Government College, Mayabunder Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has a Boy's Hostel facility. At present accommodation is available for about 236 Boys. The hostellers are provided a stipend to meet their mess expenses.

The College has a girls' hostel facility. At present accommodation is available for about 240 Girls. The hostellers are provided a stipend to meet their mess expenses.

The College has a library with nearly Twelve thousand volumes in all the relevant subjects and subscribes to nearly 50 journals. Good collections of reading material/resources are also available exclusively on Andaman & Nicobar Islands/Islands Studies. The facility for the use of the Internet for the faculty and students is also provided in the Library.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The College has two well-equipped computer labs one exclusively for examination and the other for learning as the college aims to provide 100% computer literacy and its students and staff.

The college also has a well-furnished CANTEEN which has been given on a contract basis.

The college has a well-furnished AUDITORIUM having a capacity of more than 600 which caters to the needs of the students for cultural functions and also for interdepartmental debate discussions.

The college has a well-equipped SPORTS CENTRE. The indoor games center which is popularly known as the gym center is well maintained with all types of indoor games such as carom, TT, badminton, and chess where students play and relax under the guidance of the Physical Education Lecturer.

The college has a transport facility for students and staff.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has a Gym facility for the students with a treadmill and other modern equipment.

The College has N.C.C- Senior Division Boys (Naval wing Unit) with an intake of 50 cadets. The College also has a National Service Scheme (NSS) with one unit for Girls and another for Boys, having a total intake of 200 NSS Volunteers. Admission is given to those undergraduate students who can continue in the Scheme for two years.

The college has Classroom facilities for all students.
