Mahendhira College of Education is located in Salem and was founded in the year 2005, is a co-educational college for teacher training. This affiliated college is situated in Minnampalli, Vazhapadi T.K, Salem, Tamil Nadu It has the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) accreditation.

The college mainly specialises in teacher education, having only one full time course – the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This two-year program has an approved students’ intake of 100 students per year in order to ensure quality education with reasonable class sizes as approved by the institution. The program of B.Ed course program is aimed towards provide teaching profession to the students so that they have adequate skills and knowledge. Presently the college only has one degree programme that it offers The college offers a teaching degree education, in tune with the college’s mandate for training teachers.
