Mahitosh Nandy Mahavidyalaya, set up in Jangipara of Hooghly District, West Bengal, has created a simple and hassle-free admission procedure for the benefit of students. the college has been continuously upgradation of its infrastructure and academic facilities keeping in view the educational requirements of the local people in this remote area. For admission into the undergraduate programs of Mahitosh Nandy Mahavidyalaya, candidates need to have passed the 10+2 level from a recognized board. The college offers several BA (Bachelor of Arts) programs, both general and honors. The other courses may have specific eligibility criteria for each honors program, but in general, a good academic record in relevant subjects would be required at the 10+2 level. As an affiliated college, Mahitosh Nandy Mahavidyalaya adheres to admission criteria laid down by the parent university. B.A. (Bachelor of Arts): The college offers a comprehensive B.A. program with multiple specialties. College has a total intake for the general B.A. course of 611 seats. Admission to this course is based upon the merit of the candidate in the Higher Secondary (10+2) examination, with the candidates having the relevant subject in higher secondary offered priority.

B.A. Honours: The college offers several B.A. Honours programs in distinct subjects. The procedure for admission and eligibility for these programs is as detailed below:

  1. B.A. Bengali Honours: The program has 97 seats. The candidate should have studied Bengali in 10+2 and should possess good marks in it.
  2. B.A. History Honours: This program offers 97 seats and a strong backing in History at 10+2 is necessary.
  3. B.A. Sanskrit Honours: The college grants 87 seats under this program. Proficiency in Sanskrit at the 10+2 level is necessary for admission.
  4. B.A. Arabic Honours: It offers 58 seats. Preference may be given to candidates with a background in Arabic-language studies.
  5. B.A. Education Honours: A program with 69 seats that deals with educational studies; candidates should have a good overall academic record to be qualified for admission.
  6. B.A. Philosophy Honours: The college offers 49 seats to this program. Candidates who take an interest in the philosophical study may apply.
  7. B.A. English Honours: This program admits 28 students. Proficiency in English language and literature at the 10+2 level is crucial for admission.

Admission to all Honours programs is usually made based on marks obtained in the 10+2 examinations in the relevant subject and the overall performance of the candidate in the examination.
