MCC Calicut Admission Process

Malabar Christian College (MCC), Calicut, is a name that speaks of honor and glory as far as undergraduate and postgraduate education is concerned in many disciplines. Admission to various courses is granted to students per the merit-based system of the affiliated University of Calicut. MCC Calicut is bent on acquiring the blessings of quality education and to step according to the validity put in place by the University of Calicut in the admission matter.

Such procedures of admission that are open to the public at MCC Calicut generally commence after results of the higher secondary school are declared. Most undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs are involved in the process through its admission office. The admission is on a merit basis, according to performance in the qualifying examinations.

Undergraduate admissions are, for the most part, based upon marks obtained within the 10+2 examinations or equivalent. Admission entirely rests on merit and academic capability. For postgraduate programs, the marks obtained in the corresponding bachelor's degree will be considered.

Application Process

The normal admission procedure which Malabar Christian College, Calicut, follows comprises the following:

1. Notification: Admission notification is published on the official website of the college and local newspapers.

2. Application Form: The application form can be obtained from the college office or downloaded from the official website.

3. Filling Application: The applicants must fill in and submit the application very carefully with correct information.

4. Submission of Documents: The subsequent documents must be annexed with the duly filled application form:

  • Mark sheets of qualifying examination (10th, 12th, or bachelor degree as applicable)
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (to those really eligible for reservation category)
  • Other relevant certificates as per college requirement

5. Submission of Application: Duly filled applications should be submitted along with the documents above to the College Admission office on or before the last date for submission.

6. Merit List: The college draws and publishes the merit list for each level based on marks secured in the qualifying examination.

7. Counselling: Eligible candidates then get called to a counseling session in which they are given an opportunity to select their course of interest in merit of their rank based on the availability of seats.

8. Fee Payment: The selected candidates are required to pay the prescribed fees concerning their admission.

9. Document Verification: The college will verify the original documents during the admission date.

10. Start of Classes: Students admitted will be notified as regarding the date to start classes.

Degree-wise Admission Process

M.A. Admission: Undergraduate programs will be B.A. with specializations in History, Economics, Malayalam, and Functional English. Each special subject has a defined intake capacity.

  1. B.A. History: 60
  2. B.A. Economics: 60
  3. B.A. Malayalam: 40
  4. B.A. Functional English: 40

All these courses are admitted on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent).

B.Sc. Programmes: Majors offered by the college in B.Sc. from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Zoology with intake capacities of:

  1. B.Sc. Physics: 48
  2. B.Sc. Chemistry: 48
  3. B.Sc. Mathematics: 48
  4. B.Sc. Zoology: 36

These programs admit students depending on the marks obtained in the relevant subjects in the qualifying exam.

B.Com and BBAs:

  1. B.Com Computer Application (Self-Finance): 40
  2. B.Com Finance: 30
  3. BBA (Self-Finance): 30 Sympathetic to courses comprising of the 10+2 examination, students were admitted to these programs based on their academic performance.

B.Voc Program:

  1. B.Voc Agriculture: 50

The admissions to this vocational program are based on 10+2 performance and interest in agriculture.

M.A. Programmes: MCC Calicut-MCC Calicut offers M.A. in Malayalam, English Literature, in Economics, History, Journalism, and Mass Communication. The intake capacity for most of these programs is 20 seats each. The admission basis for those courses is marks obtained in the relevant bachelor's degree.

M.Sc. Programs: This college conducts M.Sc. programs among Mathematics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Physics. Their intake capacity is:

  1. M.Sc. Mathematics: 15
  2. M.Sc. Chemistry: 12
  3. M.Sc. Zoology: 12
  4. M.Sc. Physics(Self Finance): 12 .

Based on marks obtained in the relevant bachelor's degree, admission will be enlisted.
