Malda College was established in the year 1944 in Malda, West Bengal, and it is one of the premier institutions in the state. This affiliated college, accredited by NAAC, offers courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Spread over a campus of 52 acres, the Malda College has a student population of 6,740 along with 56 faculty members. The male-to-female student ratio is well-balanced; 58% are males and 42% are females studying in Malda College, hence offering an ideal setting to learn.

The institution has a strong belief in rendering excellent facilities for the betterment of student experience. Separate hostels for boys and girls are provided with accommodation facilities, having 102 and 72 capacities respectively, for out-station students. The learning hub is also esteemed with books, having more than 43,000 books for undergraduate students and 15,000 for postgraduate scholars. All types of sports enthusiasts get attracted to this place because of the well-maintained sports facilities. The IT infrastructure comprises three well-equipped computer laboratories, which help the students to keep themselves updated with changing technological advancements. The two magnificent auditoriums are the Durga Kinkar Sadan with 1,050 seats and the air-conditioned Sana Ullah Mancha with 300 seats for cultural and academic programs. Other facilities include a canteen, gymnasium equipped with modern gadgets, and well-equipped laboratories to carry out practical work.

Malda College has a diversified academic curriculum with 25 different courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Most of these are full-time courses which enable students to gather in-depth knowledge and expertise in respective fields.
