Malda College is an earth-cradling institution in Malda district in West Bengal. The college offers an assortment of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in various disciplines. Malda college has a proper admission procedure so that deserving candidates are selected for its academic programs. Usually, the process of admission in Malda College has begun once the announcement of 10+2 results is made, which falls around May or June, for the academic year commencing from August-September.
For admission, the academic performance in the qualifying examination followed by an allowance for other guidelines to those imposed by the University of Gour Banga becomes the basis for selection. For undergraduate programs, candidates who have successfully completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board are eligible to apply. Application and admission process under postgraduate programs-MA English, Bengali and History are held at Malda College.
Application Process
The application process for Malda College aims to be simple and convenient for the eligible candidates. The following is the stepwise procedure for applying to Malda College:
1. Notification: The admission notification is published on the official website of Malda College and also in local newspapers, usually following the declaration of the 10+2 results.
2. Online Application: Afterward, applicants fill out an online application form on the college's official website. It is imperative to provide accurate details and upload required documents as specified.
3. Document Submission: The applicants must submit scanned mark sheets, pass certificates, caste certificates, if applicable, and any other relevant documents that the concerned application may mention.
4. Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee should be made via the mode mentioned by the college.
5. Merit List Publication: The college will announce different merit lists for courses on the college's website and notice boards. Depending upon the availability of seats, further merit lists may also be released.
6. Counselling and Admission: The counselling sessions are allotted to the selected candidates while the admission is confirmed only after document verification and payment of fees.

Degree wise Admission Process
B.A. Programs: Various B.A. Honours programs with History, Political Science, English, Philosophy, Bengali, Education, Sociology, Sanskrit, Economics, and Arabic are offered by Malda College. The admission of these programs is made on the basis of marks obtained in the 10+2 examination, basically concerning the relevant subjects. Malda College has a fairly good intake capacity in its B.A. courses with B.A. History Honours and B.A. Political Science Honours, admitting up to 350 and 330 students respectively.
B.Sc. Programs: For the science-loving students, the college offers B.Sc. Honours courses in Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Geography, and Computer Science (Self Finance). Since there are very few seats for these programs, admission is quite competitive. For example, B.Sc. Mathematics Honours has a maximum intake of 125 students, while the other science courses like Physics, Chemistry, and Botany have 55 seats each.
B.Com. Programs: The facility at Malda College for B.Com. Honours in Accountancy has an intake of 110 students. Admission is based on the performance in the 10+2 examination with major consideration of marks obtained in commerce-related subjects.
M.A. Programs: Malda College conducts Master's programs in English, Bengali, and History. Admission into these courses is through scores attained in the undergraduate degree. The capacity for MA courses ranges from 70 to 75 students for each specialization.
BCA Program: The college provides the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program with an intake of 50 students. Admission to these courses might also consider mathematics marks secured in the 10+2 examination.
I have studied Mathematics Honours there for three years and the quality of teaching isn't half bad. But you still need to focus on self studying. They try to teach you updated topics if you are interested but they mainly focus on university syllabus.

Yes, of course, malda college west Bengal is good for physics. It has separate department of physics in the college. The physics department is full of best teachers with good skills and knowledge upon the subject. Every professor is a phd holder. Well talented people are there in the department of physics.
