Mallabhum Institute of Polytechnic, Bishnupur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Mallabhum Institute of Polytechnic, established in 2014, is the affiliated college located at Bishnupur, West Bengal. This is a co-educational institution stretched over a 16.06-acre campus and approved by AICTE. MIP offers four diploma programs in engineering disciplines with a total student enrolment of 437 and faculty strength of 26. The main goals, inter-alia, are to provide quality technical education in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and Computer Science and Engineering. Through modern facilities and industry-oriented curriculum, MIP should be in a position to mould students for successful careers in the rapidly changing technological environment.

The institute has various facilities for developing the learning and overall growth of students. There is a central library of 4000 sq. ft. with more than 5,498 volumes and 481 titles, which helps to create an atmosphere that is conducive for research work and study. The commitment of MIP towards holistic education can be gauged from the sports infrastructure, in which there are separate boys' and girls' complexes, having grounds for football, cricket, volleyball, and basketball. The institute also organizes various types of tournaments, such as the Mallabhum Premier League, to encourage students to actively participate in sports. Well-equipped workshops for technical skill development are available with modern machinery like lathe machines, milling machines, and UTM. Wi-fi has been provided on the campus with 12 Mbps internet connectivity, which is accessibly available for students connected with online resources. Also, the hostel facilities are available at the institute in its campus for both boys and girls. It ensures comfortable accommodation, well-equipped with gymnasiums, common rooms, and dining halls.

In total, the Mallabhum Institute of Polytechnic runs four full-time diploma courses. The following four types fall under: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering, and Diploma in Computer Science and Technology. All the programs are of three years duration, and the approved intake is 60 students in each, thus, there are a total of 240 seats for all courses together.                                                                                                

For the first year Diploma Courses, 75% of the intake capacity is filled up through JEXPO counseling by CSC. The remaining 25% seats are filled up through Management Quota. The Institute offers lateral admission directly in the second year for 10% of the intake capacity in each stream, subject to change of government policy. MIP also offers a host of facilities that help students at all stages of their academic pursuit—like a well-stacked library, state-of-the-art laboratories, and sports facilities that ensure an all-rounded education.
