The college has sports grounds, library, small gym , science labs and computer labs too. Some classrooms have been converted into smart classrooms with Wi-Fi access under 5T program of Odisha government. Also there is a canteen for staffs and students.
The faculties here are few in number. I am doing a Bachelors in Science ( Physical Science Department ).Mostly the courses offered here are bachelor level ones in arts , science and commerce. Specializations like Computer science, botany , zoology, English , Math , Physics and Chemistry are there.
Placements are not that decent as the opportunities are negligible. The college doesn't offer any course which is industry oriented hence no recruiters come. Mostly people go in teaching and banking sector after passing out.
The course fees is around 20000 for total bachelors which is quite affordable.Yes I feel the money being paid to the college is worth it as after graduation you become eligible for 90% of government jobs and corporate jobs too and also the fees is quite low.
The college is near to the market area so most of the times students benefit from this. The college is located near a main tourist attraction place of Odisha ,i.e. Maa Mangala Temple at Kakatpur. The campus is safe and can handle emergencies as Kakatpur is the block headquarter as well.
It is a well reputed local college , so do consider it If you have no better options.
During our time the college infrastructure was not that much evolved. But nowadays it has improved. Mainly the academic area and the conditions of laboratories have shown great evolution with time .Now some classrooms have been converted into Smart classrooms also .
The college us the only government college having vast number of courses in its undergraduate programs . Hence people from far and near come to study here. The lecturers were quite good back then but now most of them rely jn private tuitions because of low pay scale . the curriculum is the typical credit based bsc curriculum offered in indian colleges and doesn't make a student ready for the corporate world .
The placement scenario was not there in our time and now also seems to have negligible representation. The college doesn't offer any job ready courses like BTech and MBA hence no recruiters come to the college . But students do prepare for their masters and government exams after graduation.
The course fees is less than 20000 whole duration now . Back then it was way cheaper adjusted to inflation .Now also it's affordable for middleclass and lower middleclass people . The only problem is that the return one gets after paying the amount only depends on the student . College doesn't play a great role there.
Campus life was nothing in our times . Nowadays market areas have been set up near the college but still it lacks in organisation of mega events or festivals . It do organise the mandatory events in small scale though. The location is near the famous Kakatpur Mangala Temple , which is a very famous tourist soot of the state .
