Maris Stella College, Vijayawada was founded on 6th July 1962 to provide quality education to women. Maris Stella College is a well-known college for women in Krishna District, and it started on July 16, 1962. It’s known for its quality education and was first recognised with a 4-star rating by NAAC in 1999. The college became autonomous in 2003 and the NAAC gave it an ‘A’ grade in 2006, and the UGC called it a “College with Potential for Excellence” in 2014. 

The college’s autonomy was renewed in 2023, allowing it to continue its tradition of excellence.
