Marwar Engineering College and Research Centre (MECRC), established in 2003, is one of the largest engineering college situated in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The MECRC is located on a large plot of land measuring 15 acres and is well equipped to offer engineering programmes to young talents. The college is one of the affiliated colleges having a team of 61 committed faculties. MECRC offers six courses across two degree courses and can effectively offer courses to all engineering disciplines.

MECRC has facilities that are developed and put to promote the learning environment for the students. The college has fitted and air conditioned hostels for boys and girls will can house up to one hundred students each. These hostels are accompanied by neat and clean mess halls which will provide necessary safety and health for the residents. In the area of academics MECRC has well stocked library with round about fifteen thousand course books, thirty six International journals, thirty one National and newspapers and magazine. The inclusion of the digital library advances the latitudes of available tools for students. In addition to the general and e-library services, each department also operates their individual library as well.

MECRC teaches six course in total and is made of five B.Tech course and one M.Tech course. The B.Tech programmes include Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. These full time undergraduate programmes take four years, graduating the students with a sound academic knowledge and skills in the area of specialisation. M.Tech Electrical Engineering is a postgraduate programme in the discipline which has a duration of two years and is a full time programme. The total intake for all these courses differs; Electronics & Communication Engineering course has the highest intake capacity of 120 intake while Electrical and Mechanical Engineering has intake capacity of 90 intakes and Civil Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering has intake of 60 intakes.

The system of admission sought by MECRC is rigorous and smooth that aims to identify students most qualified to study engineering at university. The college may consider performance in appropriate entrance examinations for admission. MECRC institution also holds educational support such as playing fields and other facilities for students extra curriculum activities. These are well equipped laboratories for every branch of engineering, a computer centre having Internet facility and first aid and sports facilities Indoor and outdoor games. The college also has a health centre that is equipped with a first aid equipment and the college owns 32 buses that help students and staffs to move from one place to the next within the city and its environs.

The alumni association of MECRC was set up in 2009. This association aims at bringing the former students to continue with relationships with their school and fellow brethren, to warrant a platform for general affiliation. The college’s emphasis on its work-oriented curriculum can be seen in laboratories with Civil, Electrical Electronics and Communication, Mechanical Engineering Labs. These labs coupled with the focus the college places on the acquisition of relevant professional skills are intended to equip the students for productive careers in their respective areas of engineering disciplines.
