Mata Padmawati College and School of Nursing, Nahan: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Mata Padmawati College and School of Nursing, Nahan, is an affiliated college in Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh, that was established in the year of 2011. These nursing institution is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) so as to promote quality education on nursing in healthcare. It provides three prohgrammes  such as B. Sc Nursing, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing. At prresent, the institute has a total student intake of 269 and a faculty strength of 8 thus offering a cohort learning model. Nursing education is clearly defined by the college’s specialised courses and its goal of graduating competent health care professionals.

Mata Padmawati College and School of Nursing provides access to the following amenities to improve and compliment the academic performance of the students. A good library is set as a centre of knowledge to the student while acquiring an access to the modern world and the IT facilities offer them a connection to the modern world. In a bid to pursue the college’s student’s health, there is a current medical facility that provides first aid services. Extra curricular activities include sports facilities and gym among them. The campus also has also an auditorium for events and seminars and is active in terms of the academic community. In fact, the college also operates a secure girls’ hostel on the college campus boasting amenities such as iron, cots, etc., neat and clean mess facilities, round the clock availability of water and electricity supply etc. For easy conveyance, the college provides transport services for the students and employees as well.

Mata Padmawati College and School of Nursing has a total of three nursing courses which are full time courses. These programmes include diploma level nursing education and post graduate knowledge in the same field. Ten new seats across all the programmes offered at the college have been approved implying that the college adheres to quality education through regulation of admission capacities. 

The admission process at Mata Padmawati College and School of Nursing differs from one course to another. For the B.Sc Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing courses, selection is done through an entrance examination conducted by the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, every in the months of July /August. This test decides nomination for both government positions and for management positions in the state. Admission to the GNM programme is also merit based, counselling for which is done by the DME Shimla in July or August. It offers total intake for each course for both government and management quota admissions.
