Mehar Chand College of Education, Ropar Admission Process

Mehar Chand College of Education, Ropar, is reputed teacher training college. This teacher-training institute is situated in Bhanopli Tehsil, Anandpur Sahib, District Ropar, State Punjab, India. The admission process undertaken at Mehar Chand College of Education follows the guidelines provided by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Punjab for the B.Ed. template, along with that of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Punjab for the D.El.Ed. template. The college holds an admission process that is seasonal with the rest of Punjab's academic calendar. 2. Application Form: Attain and fill in the application form for your desired program (B.Ed. or D.El.Ed.) Since the application form may be available online, it may also be available at the campus of the college.

3. Document Submission: Submission of duly filled application form along with all necessary enclosures, which normally includes:

  • Passport size photographs
  • Qualifying exam mark sheets (Graduation for B.Ed., 10+2 for D.El.Ed.)
  • ID proof
  • Domicile certificate where applicable
  • Category certificate (if applicable under a specific quota)

4. Entrance Examination: To appear for the entrance exam as per the notification by the respective authorities (the Department of Higher Education and SCERT Punjab).

5. Merit List: After the entrance exam, the merit list is prepared based on marks in the qualifying examination and the entrance test.

6. Counseling: Candidates on the merit list will then be called for a counseling session where they will be able to choose their preferred college according to the rank in the merit list.

7. Document Verification: Selected candidates need to appear for document verification in college.

8. Fee Payment: The candidates need to pay the program fee after confirmation through successful verification for admission.

9. Orientation: Candidates must attend the orientation organized by the university to familiarize themselves with the campus, faculty, and course structure.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed. program is a two-year full-time course in Mehar Chand College of Education, with sanctioned intake of 200 students. The admission procedure for B.Ed. is purely merit-based considering the qualifying examination and entrance examination marks. The college adopts the State Government/U.T. Administration and the University framework for the selection process. The fee structure for B.Ed. program is 98,000/-.

D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed. program is also a two-year full-time course with an approved intake of 50 students. Like the B.Ed. program, admissions to D.El.Ed. are made based on merit considering marks obtained in qualifying examination and entrance examination. The college follows rules framed by the State Government/UT Administration for the selection process. The fee structure for the D.El.Ed. program is 80000/-.

Yes you can study B.ed by not attending. It is a 2year course and some Universities offer distance learning. Different universities having different fees structure but the scale is range between 80,000 to 1,00,000 rs.
