METS School of Engineering, Thrissur is a growing educational institution in the Kuruvilassery of Kerala State that started in the year 2002. This affiliated college, approved by the University of Mumbai and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Mumbai, has shaped the future of young engineers for more than two decades. Located on a 28-acre campus, METS has brought in a number of engineering courses to meet the changes happening in the engineering fields.

It is to accomplish this that the institute has a sound academic status enhanced through functional laboratories, a fully equipped library with over 18000 books and 140 technical journals, and functional computer facilities. Academic and personal development being central to the learning process, METS has fully implemented and developed facilities that enhance it. There are boys’ hostels and girls’ hostels on the campus. Twin sharing rooms are provided to the students for a comfortable stay with a scheduled 24-hour internet connection to enable students to make use of resources for better understanding.

METS School of Engineering also features a broad range of choices, which are comprised of 12 programmes of study at three levels of degree. The institute offers its premier programme, which is B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering, for 30 to 60 students in each section. Also, the D.Eng. and M.Sc. have enhanced the college offers in strategic areas that are new generation and include artificial intelligence and data science, and robotics and automation at the undergraduate level. To fulfil the aspirations of the candidates, METS offers a Master of Technology or M.Tech in Biotechnology Engineering, Big Data Analytics, and Cyber Security. The institute also provides diploma courses in different branches of engineering and is suitable for candidates who prefer courses that cover more skills within a shorter period of time.

For admissions in METS School of Engineering, Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical (KEAM) is the main entrance examination. Applicants seeking admission in various engineering courses must obtain a minimum of 10 marks in both Paper I and Paper II of the Engineering Entrance Exam that is organised by the Commissioner of Entrance Exams, Government of Kerala. The institute also earmarks 15 percent seats for the NRI category for students who are children of non-resident Indians, on condition that they have qualified the KEAM.

For postgraduate programmes, the enrolment is limited to those candidates who have a valid GATE score, but sponsored candidates may be exempt from this provision. If there are some unoccupied seats, then the institute looks for candidates with no GATE qualification, looking at Keralites first and then the other state candidates.
