MIC Arts and Science College, Malappuram Admission Process

MIC Arts and Science College, Malappuram shall be the new budding institution happening in Kerala, India, to impart undergraduate and postgraduate programs in a lot of streams. The merit-based admission process is followed by the college and the admission policy of the affiliated university.  The admission process typically begins much earlier, with the actual starting date of academic years usually being in June or July. The college runs 11 different courses across 5 degree programs catering to various academic interests in arts, commerce, and science streams. For undergraduate courses, students who have done their 10+2 education with a recognized board can apply. Actual eligibility criteria could be different for different chosen courses. For admission to postgraduate programs, applicants will be required to hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline from a University recognized by the Institute. 

Application Process

The application process for MIC Arts and Science College, Malappuram, includes the steps below:

1. Go to the official college webpage or get in touch with the admission office about the latest application forms and admission notifications.

2. Download the application form, fill it up with accurate personal and academic details.

3. Compile all specified documents needed to be submitted, which are duly being indicated in the admission notification. Generally, the documents required include:

  • Passport-size photographs
  • Ruck sheets of qualifying examinations (10th, 12th for UG courses; Bachelor's degree for PG courses)
  • Transfer Certificate from the preceding institution

7. After the publication of the list, if the student's name appears, he/she is requested to report to the college for verification of documents and confirmation of admission within the stipulated time.

8. Pay the required admission fee and fulfill all other formalities as directed by the college administration.

9. Attend the orientation program and start attending classes according to the academic calendar of the college.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.A. Programs: A good number of B.A. programs are being offered at MIC Arts and Science College, including Political Science, Mass Communication and Journalism, English Language and Literature, and Sociology. Each of these programs has 60 seats except for B.A. English Language and Literature and B.A. Sociology, which have 40 seats each. If and when admission is given to them, consideration will be made for the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (10+2) and admission will be made according to the university policy of admissions.

B.Com Programs: B.Com programs in Cooperation and Finance are offered at the college, the seats being 60 and 45 respectively. The minimum requirement is the completion of 10+2 with Commerce or related subjects. The admission process looks into the marks obtained in the qualifying exam, placing higher weight on students with higher scores in Commerce subjects.

B.Sc Programs: B.Sc programs offered by MIC Arts and Science College are in Computer Science and Psychology, with 36 seats in each. The admission into these programs requires a strong background in science subjects at the 10+2 level. The selection process is based on the marks obtained in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination.

M.Com Program: M.Com is offered by the college with a capacity of 15 seats. Applicants must possess a B.Com or equivalent degree from a recognized university. Admission will be based on the marks secured in the bachelor's degree with preference to those securing more in commerce subjects.

M.A. Programs: M.A. programs provided by the college include Journalism and Mass Communication as well as Political Science, with each program having a capacity of 15 students. The applicant should have a bachelor's degree in the relevant or a related discipline. Admission shall be based on the marks in the qualifying degree and such other criteria that may be prescribed by the university.
