Mirik College is a tertiary learning institution. The college conducts undergraduate courses across various disciplines as part of the Bachelor of Arts degree. 4. Application Fee: The prescribed application fee has to be paid by the candidate. The mode and amount of fee shall be advised in the admission notification.
5. Merit List: The college prepares and publishes a merit list of selected candidates on the basis of marks obtained in Class XII and availability of seats.
6. Counselling and Admission: Selected candidates are called for a counseling session where they can choose their desired course based on their merit and seat availability.
7. Fee Payment: Once selected, the candidate needs to pay the admission fee and go through other formalities to secure a seat in the college.
8. Orientation: Students selected are usually called for an orientation program at the start of the academic session.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.A. (Bachelor of Arts): B.A. with a host of specializations at Mirik College. B.A. courses can be obtained in either general or honours forms; a total of 6 courses are offered at this college, for admission in which candidates need to be able to prove that they could achieve in their Class XII examinations.
B.A. in English Honours: It has 40 seats. For admission into this course, a student should pass Class XII from any reputed board. For the admission process, this college follows all the rules given by North Bengal University.
B.A. Nepali Honours Admission: 40 seats; interested candidates in Nepali language and literature. The pattern is a replica of the admission applicable to other honours programs in which the criterion is that a candidate should pass his Class XII exams from a reputed board.
B.A. History Honours: It has 40 seats, and just like any other honours course, this too has standard admission procedure. Students who come from a greater background of humanities are favored.
B.A. Political Science Honours: It has 40 seats. This is for students interested in political studies. The procedure for admission is according to the rules and regulations set by the University of North Bengal for the honours course.
B.A. Geography Honours: This honours course has 35 seats. The admission procedure is the same as other honours courses. Candidates should have passed Class XII from a recognized board.
