MIT School of Film and Television, Pune Admission Process

MIT School of Film and Television, is the constituent college for MIT Art, Design and Technology University. The institute aims to nurture talent in media and entertainment sectors through specialized programmes in Film Making and VFX & Computer Graphics. The processes of admission followed at MIT School of Film and Television are keenly designed with the aim to identify passionate talented individuals who exhibit a strong aptitude for a particular field of interest.

Generally, the institute runs admissions for the academic calendar beginning with the fall semester. Admission into undergraduate as well as postgraduate programs consists of an entrance examination and, thereafter, an interview by a panel of experts. The two-step admission process ensures only those candidates having the right combination of aptitude, creativity, and passion are selected into the programs.

Eligibility criteria for the programs may vary, but generally, candidates are expected to have completed their previous level of education (10+2 for undergraduate programs and bachelor's degree for postgraduate programs) from a recognized board or university. Application Process 

Step of Application for admission at MIT School of Film and Television, Pune, is done as follows

1. Proceed to the site of MIT School of Film and Technology or MIT Art, Design and Technology University.

2. Locate the heading of admission or application and download an application form based upon the course available, that is, B.Sc Film Making, M.Sc Film Making, or M.Sc VFX and Computer Graphics.

3. Fill in all the correct personal and academic details as asked in the form. All the fields to be filled are compulsorily required.

4. Now prepare all those documents that will come in handy, such as:

  • Passport-sized photographs
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets, in case of undergraduate applications.
  • Bachelor's degree certificate and mark sheets, in case of postgraduate applications
  • Valid ID proof.
  • Any other certificates or portfolios relevant to your filmmaking skills or other related skills.

5. Send the application form duly filled-in along with all other documents and application fee if required, and as per instruction given on the website or application form.

6. Wait for any communication from the institute about when the entrance exam will be scheduled after submitting an application form properly. Prepare on your own or get coached accordingly to ensure good scoring on film-making related topics, art visuals, and all other knowledge and experience regarding this industry.

7. Once you have been shortlisted out of the entrance exam, a panel of experts interview you through the personal interview form. You can prepare to present an evidence of passion in and knowledge about a particular field under which you present your candidature; also, aptitude.

8. The final list of candidates shall be prepared and approved based on their performance in the entrance examination and interview.

The Institute will communicate the result to the eligible candidates.

9. On selection, admission formalities will be completed by paying the fee and submitting original documents for verification.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc in Film Making is a three-year undergraduate program, with an intake of 60 seats. It is done after an entrance exam followed by a personal interview with a panel of experts. Candidates who have completed their 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized board can apply for it. The total fee for the entire program is Rs. 1,255,600.

M.Sc Film Making: This postgraduate program has 25 seats intake. Like the undergraduate program, admission is given through an entrance exam and personal interview with experts. Candidates who have a bachelor's degree in the relevant field can apply for it. The total fee for this program is Rs. 850,400.

M.Sc VFX and Computer Graphics: Available from the institute. The details about admission and intake cannot be accessed. Candidates interested in the program may contact the admissions office for more information.
