Mithila Minority Dental College and Hospital, Darbhanga, Bihar, was established in 1989. This affiliated college is approved by the Dental Council of India and has a 5-acre campus with a range of different dental programs. MMDCH provides quality dental education and health services with a total student enrollment of 217 and a faculty strength of 110. The institute offers 9 courses in 3 degree levels, having postgraduate departments in all dental disciplines. This MMDCH commitment towards dental education is visible in the range of courses and facilities that are fully efficient.

The college has many facilities for the academic and personal development of students. Well-furnished, separate hostels for boys and girls are available and are managed through a four-tier system comprising resident wardens and an advisory committee. The health club on the campus is ultra-modern, sprawling over six acres with a jogging track, multi-gym, tennis court, and a canteen. The library of the college is well-maintained with books, periodicals, etc. The reading room facilities are also available for students. MMDCH knows that the professionals turned out must be 'all-rounder'; therefore, due importance is laid on sports also. Modern IT infrastructure with Wi-Fi connectivity and laboratories for every department are available in the campus. It also consist a cafeteria, an auditorium, and guest rooms for visiting faculty and families of students. 

MMDCH runs a total of 9 courses that include undergraduate and postgraduate programs as well. The undergraduate courses consist of the flagship course of BDS, while the postgraduate courses are under different MDS specializations. The college also offers diploma courses in Dental Mechanics and Dental Hygiene. All courses are full-time, with a very strong and equal emphasis on teaching theoretical knowledge along with practical training. The approved intake of students for BDS is 60, while MDS has varying intakes ranging from 2 to 5 seats per speciality. 

For the BDS course, candidates need to be eligible in NEET and also appear in the counselling conducted by BCECE Board, Patna. Candidates looking for admission in MDS needs to clear the NEET MDS entrance examination with eligible cut-off scores. The applications are invited in the college on the basis of these national level entrance examinations. This procedure makes the admissions quite fair and competitive. The academic calendar of MMDCH converges with the examination and counselling of NEET and NEET MDS. Whereas the college conducts these examinations once a year.
