Mithila Minority Dental College and Hospital, Darbhanga Admission Process

Mithila Minority Dental College and Hospital (MMDCH), Darbhanga, is the seat of a comprehensive admission process for its dental programs. Approved by the Dental Council of India, the institute conducts undergraduate and postgraduate admissions through national-level entrance examinations. Admission to MMDCH is based on merit so that only the best are admitted to the program.

Undergraduate admissions to MMDCH are based on NEET, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The application process is typically done in February, with the exam held in May. The candidate has to pass NEET with the required cut-off score in order for the applicant to be considered for admission to the BDS program of MMDCH.

Postgraduate courses are those that consider NEET MDS scores for admissions under MMDCH. The NEET MDS application process generally opens in February, with exams taking place in March. Application Process

PPlication process regarding MMDCH differs from one program to another:

For BDS:

1. Qualify NEET with required cut-off scores.
2. Register for the centralized counseling conducted by BCECE Board, Patna.
3. Participate in the counseling and choose MMDCH as a preferred college for admission.
4. Report at MMDCH for document verification and admission formalities if a seat is allotted.

For MDS programs:

1. Appear and qualify in NEET MDS entrance examination.
2. Apply to MMDCH with NEET MDS scores during the time application window opens.
3. Attend any additional selection processes as notified by the college.
4. If selected, follow the admission process with documents required and fees payment.

Degree Wise Admission Process

BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery): 60 seats in BDS: Admissions occur into this course based on the candidate's NEET merit. An eligible candidate must take part in centralized counselling conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) Board, Patna, for the total fee of Rs. 1,410,000 for the BDS program.

MDS (Master of Dental Surgery): MMDCH has different MDS specialization programs, each of which has its own individual intake capacity:

  • MDS Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics: 5 seats
  • MDS Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics: 5 seats
  • MDS Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry: 5 seats
  • MDS Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge: 3 seats
  • MDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery: 3 seats
  • MDS Periodontics: 2 seats

For all MDS programs, candidates must have appeared and cleared the NEET MDS entrance exam with the required cut-off scores. The admission procedure is thus uniform for all specializations at MDS but varies according to fees. MDS Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has, for instance, a total fee of Rs. 2,190,000, while MDS Periodontics has costs of Rs. 1,050,000.

Diploma Courses: MMDCH offers Diploma in Dental Mechanics and Diploma in Dental Hygienist without detailed admission information.
