MCET or Mohandas College of Engineering and Techonlogy is a major engineering college located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala was launched only in 2002. MCET is an approved affiliated college under AICTE and has received NAAC accreditation The college is spread across 37 acres of land. The institute delivers its learning through thirteen subject areas spanned across five degree programmes and in total serves 889 students. MCET follows a student-teacher ratio by having a competent faculty team of 121 committed individuals to impart quality education and character building process to students.

MCET has all the infrastructure facilities which can greatly facilitate the cause of enhancing the learning process of the students. The college library has over Thirty-four thousand, Three hundred and forty-two printed volumes and Ten Thousand, Three hundred and twenty-five titles with in excess of One thousand, Five hundred electronic journals through online subscription. Computer facilities include seven hundred personal computers and thirteen communication and computation servers meeting advanced campus demands. Exercising freaks can enjoy both indoor and outdoor amenities like table tennis, chess & caroms, volleyball and basketball courts, foot ball fields, cricket grounds and athletic tracks. The college also has on-campus hostels for both the boys and girls, furnished chambers, round the clock water supply and hygienic and healthy mess facilities.

This institute provides almost all the courses that are available in different instituesthe major courses include engineering and technology. MCET offers thirteen full time programmes in B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, MBA and BHMCT. The total approved intake of student which include all courses is 889. Few of the most sought after B.Tech programmes are Computer Science and Engineering (120 students), Electronics and Communication Engineering (60 students) and Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering with 60 students intake. The college also provides post graduate course such as M.Tech in Power systems, computer science and engineering Applied electronics and instrumentation each having 9 seats.

MCET follows the admission policies of the admission process as provided by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). The college have a good infrastructure, atmosphere and good facilities. The facilities include smart classrooms, laboratories, libraries,sport centres and hostels. All the facilities are very useful for the students and all of them are well maintained.

It was nice joining this college. Need to focus on students.

No much infrastructure is provided. No department library, no lab etc . We need more facilities . And lift facility was recently introduced only. The ac in the classroom is not working after some days.

In mohandas college of Engineering and Technology, anad… Students are expected to adhere to the dress code prescribed by the institution while in campus. Boys should wear trousers with formal belts (only black / brown colours permitted) and insert shirts with half sleeves and their feet should be protected with socks and shoes. Jeans and T-shirts are not permitted. Girls should wear salwar kameez and dhuppatta. Girls should take care to tuck their hair. The ID card should be displayed whenever they are inside the campus. Strict disciplinary actions will be taken on the spot against those who violate the dress code.
