Mother Terasa College of Engineering and Technology (MTCET) initiated in 2009 as a self-financing affiliated college sited at Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu. It is located in a 10 Acre campus it has 13 courses across 2 degrees, total enrollment of students is 665. The institute possesses the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the faculty is consist of 191 members. MTCET is offering a number of specialisations in its various departments such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Computer Science & Business Systems.

The college aims at ensuring that it provide a favorable learning environment armed with the latest teaching amenities/ facilities. MTCET hostel for boys ‘n girls are available separately with well equipped with all modern amenities and regarding to recreation. Arihant boys hostel can accommodate nearly two hundred students and Arihant girls Hostel has nearly one hundred capacity. Some of the many facilities which are offered by this campus include the college library, college laboratory, and college health facilities. Provision of physical fitness is another stewardship of this school, the school has a gym and sports facilities for indoor and outdoor activities. It also has an event and seminar facility for an auditorium and a separate canteen facility for the students to get their snacks. With the help of high speed internet and Wi-Fi facilities, MTCET ensures bench to bench connectivity in the college campus.

MTCET encourages the engineering field and runs undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the engineering discipline. There are 8 undergraduate courses offered by the institute and 5 postgraduate courses all of which are focused towards full time study. The combined approved intake for all the courses is 665 places. The undergraduate courses are BE offered in different disciplines, and B.Tech on new growing fields. These include ME programmes in specific disciplines, among which are offered the postgraduate programs.

The requirement for admission in MTCET is slightly different for each course offered in the school. As for the undergraduate engineering courses, the common engineering entrance test and admission, CEETA-PG are used. Tamilnadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is conducted for postgraduate admissions with special reference to the ME programs. The college admits students who fit certain academic requirements and scores in the entrance exams as and when they arise. MTCET is well recognised for its aimed policy in engineering and technology streams along with students placement in emerging IT sectors.
