Mother Terasa College of Engineering and Technology (MTCET), Pudukkottai, is a self-financing affiliated college in Tamil Nadu. The college provides a diversified list of engineering courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. MTCET's admission process has been formulated to identify suitable candidates for its various courses in various streams of engineering.

The college follows a methodical admission process with a minor difference between undergraduate and postgraduate courses. MTCET employs the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission (CEETA-PG) for undergraduate engineering courses. This provides a fair and consistent selection mechanism for young engineers.

Application Process

The admission process of Mother Terasa College of Engineering and Technology is different on the basis of the program level:

For BE/B.Tech Programs:

1. Candidates will have to give the CEETA-PG exam.
2. Once the examination results are published, qualified candidates can apply for MTCET.
3. Admission shall be based on marks in CEETA-PG.
4. Eligible candidates may be asked to provide documents necessary and get themselves admitted.

For ME Programs

1. The candidates must apply and sit for the TANCET exam.
2. Meritorious students upon the declaration of the result of the TANCET can apply with MTCET for the desired ME program.
3. The college will shortlist application on the basis of marks in TANCET as well as on other grounds.
4. Shortlisted candidates will be informed and required to complete the process of admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

BE/B.Tech Programs:
MTCET provides eight undergraduate engineering programs, such as BE in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Robotics and Automation. In addition to these, B.Tech programs are provided in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and Computer Science and Business Systems. The courses are admitted through the CEETA-PG test. There is a fixed intake capacity for each course, ranging from 30 to 60 seats.

ME Programs:
There are five postgraduate ME programs offered by the college: Computer Science and Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Structural Engineering, and VLSI Design. The admissions for these programs are carried out through TANCET. There is an approved strength of 18 seats for each ME program.
