ANM stands for Auxiliary Nursing is a job oriented course. It is related to the field of nursing and 12th standard passed students may enter the field of nursing after choosing this course. This course is a 2 years long Diploma program which ranges from 1 to 3 academic years depending upon different colleges.

• Main aim - To train students and make them capable of taking up nursing practice in rural areas .ANM Diploma holders may also work in an urban setup.

Duration
The course is 2 years long. 6 months are dedicated towards an internship in 2nd academic year.


Eligibility criteria

• With a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in 10+2 level of education is the minimum eligibility to pursue the ANM Course.
• Age limit -  should not be less than 17 years of age and not be more than 35 years of age.

Candidate who wants to take admission in ANM should have passed 10+2 either from Science and Arts stream.

Admission Process for ANM

Most of the institutes give admission to candidates based on the marks scored by them in 10+2 board examination with the direct admission process.  Some reputed institutes also conducts private screening tests and interviews.

Some of the Nursing Colleges also conduct entrance test after which a PI (Personal Interview) is conducted and students get admission on the base on performance in the entrance exam.
