Mount Zion College of Engineering and Technology was set up in the year 2001, is a private college offering engineering education in Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu. Having NAAC ‘A+’ grade, MZCET offers a plethora of degree programmes including undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various engineering disciplines. The college occupies 30 acres of land and has a total proposed student intake of 1414 and is recognised by Anna University Chennai. MZCET has ten courses of three degrees related to Computer Science field Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
There are adequate facilities which meet the advances needs of learning in a campus setting. Accommodation facilities; Mount Zion College of Engineering and Technology has present day hostels for boys and girls with; Self-contained rooms, air-conditioned, internet connectivity (High speed Wi-Fi). The library is informational with subscribed 165 journals, 45 magazines and more than 1000 CDs and video cassettes e-books are available in the college intranet Sites. Sophisticated laboratories produce workplace situations where students can develop practical skills in their majors. There is also an almost equally multi functional college auditorium for college events and seminars, a college canteen which serves healthy food, and first aid college health facility. For physical fitness MZCET has a gymnasium and other related equipment’s and other facilities of basket ball, badminton and even football ground, two volley ball courts and 400 meters athletic running track etc..
Mount Zion College of Engineering and Technology has a total of 10 courses, these are courses that are offered at the college are as full time under graduate and post graduate programmes. The undertakings includes B.E and B.Tech in different engineering streams, M.E and MBA. The total approved intake to all courses is 507.The first phase of admission is meant for government sponsored students and it has the following capacities; In the last academic session the college had a total enrolment of 1,126 of which 1,101 were undergraduate and 25 post graduate.
Admission at MZCET also differs based on the course in that it offers different ways of admission depending on different programmes. Admission to undergraduate engineering courses depend largely on the TNET rankings The undergraduate engineering courses are ranked according to the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA). TNEA examination is mandatory and only the would-be students can apply for the admission process. For postgraduate programmes, especially for M.E. courses the university has admission through the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admissions (CEETA-PG). Admission to MBA programme, the college accepts TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) score. The college also offers scholarship scheme whereby 171 undergraduate and 2 postgraduate students were given reimbursements for the 2022 academic year.
