Mount Zion Medical College Hospital, Ezhamkulam Admission Process

Located in Pathanamthitta District in Kerala, Mount Zion Medical College Hospital, Ezhamkulam, is a self-financed medical college and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college stands at the forefront in regard to the admission procedure to its medical programs and is expected to abide by the national policy for merit-based admissions. Admissions into Mount Zion Medical College Hospital are normally in accordance with the national medical entrance examination schedule. Apart from undergraduate admissions, the college accepts the NEET-UG scores for this procedure. NEET will start receiving applications for the upcoming academic year from February 7, 2025, and will end on March 7, 2025.

Postgraduates will seek admission in this category through the NEET post-graduate. Stray counseling for NEET-PG on how to award, assign, and confer seats will take place on February 17-18, 2025. The eligibility criteria for MBBS admission fall under the standard norms of passing 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as major subjects. Besides the minimum age requirement, candidates must score above the qualifying percentile in understand NEET-UG as stated by the NMC. Postgraduate aspirants have to complete their MBBS course and score a valid score in the NEET-PG exam from a recognized institution.

Application Process

The admission application for Mount Zion Medical College Hospital varies with the courses.

For MBBS:

  1. Register and appear in the NEET-UG examination.
  2. Apply through the centralised counselling process conducted by the respective authorities.
  3. Submit all requisite documents including NEET-UG score card; 10+2 mark sheets; and other specified certificates.
  4. Attend counselling if shortlisted in the merit list.
  5. Complete enrolment formality upon seat allotment after deposit of fees.

For PG courses (MS Orthopaedics, MS General Surgery, and MD General Medicine):

  1. Register with and sit for the NEET-PG exam.
  2. Apply for NEET-PG counselling.
  3. Submit all required documents such as MBBS degree certificate, internship completion certificate, and NEET-PG score card.
  4. Participate in counselling, including document verification.
  5. Complete admission formalities by paying fees and submitting original documents if allotted a seat.

Degree wise Admission Process

MBBS: A total of 150 seats will be available for MBBS courses at Mount Zion Medical College Hospital.-the admission process for MBBS is entirely on a merit basis according to the performance of the individual candidates in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). Hardly any will be through an admission procedure for such a small amount of seats.

MS Orthopaedics: There are 2 seats in MS Orthopaedics for this college. The admission to the postgraduate program is based on the NEET-PG entrance examination. The candidates have to show proof of completing their MBBS and fulfilling all eligibility prescribed by the NMC for postgraduate medical courses.

MS General Surgery: 2 seats for MS General Surgery are sanctioned. The selection is again through NEET-PG for its merit and counselling.

MD General Medicine: The college has 2 seats tallyed for MD General Medicine. Admissions carried out in the same manner as any other allowed postgraduate programs by NEET-PG. Allotment of seats will take place through counselling and according to the marks scored in NEET-PG.

General documents that are required to take admission include:

  • NEET-UG/PG score card
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheets
  • MBBS degree certificate and mark sheets (for PG courses)
  • ID proof
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Medical fitness certificate.

Hello Christina , No there is reservation for catholic students because there is only the seat allotment of All India quota 15% and state quota 85% other than that there is no other seat allotment  but if catholics from the State that you hold Domicile certificate which is under any of SC/ST/OBC categiries then you get reservation for that particular category.
