Degree-wise Admission Process
B.Com (Honours and General): Narsinha Dutt College offers B.Com courses in both Honours and General categories, for evening shifts. The intake for the B.Com Evening program is 663 seats, while that for the B.Com Honours Evening program is 420. Admission to these programs is based on 10+2 marks related to the subject of commerce studies.
BA (Honours and General): Various BA programs are offered at the college during the morning and evening. The BA General program has 345 seats available for admission, while 254 seats are offered in the BA Morning Shift program. The different Specialisation areas for the Honours programs offered by the college are: in Bengali (296 seats), English (191 seats), History (177 seats), Political Science (138 seats), Sanskrit (138 seats), Education (87 seats), Philosophy (86 seats), and Urdu (38 seats). Selection of students for these programs is on the basis of marks obtained in the relevant subjects in the 10+2 examinations.
B.Sc. (Honours and General): Narsinha Dutt College offers B.Sc. programs in the fields of Pure and Biological sciences. B.Sc Bio has an intake of 96 seats with B.Sc Pure having 55 seats. For Honours programs, this would be in Mathematics (82 seats), Economics (75 seats), Physics (66 seats), Chemistry (51 seats), Computer Science (51 seats), Zoology (46 seats), Botany (43 seats) and Anthropology (41 seats). Admission for these courses will be based on the performance of the candidate in the relevant science subjects in their 10+2 examinations.
