Nava Bharathi College of Education, Secunderabad Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The library is the backbone of our college academic environment. The library has been the most integral part of the college since its existence. Utmost importance is accorded to the Library in order to facilitate academic-oriented staff and students to update their knowledge. The library is constantly enriched and new material is added to keep abreast with the latest changes and advancements in the field of education. For the convenience of the readers, a photocopying facility has also been provided on library premises. The college library has a rich collection of books and Journals, which includes reference books in Education; Incidentally, the Library provides a reading facility for both the staff and students. The college library has subscribed to many International Journals and many periodicals including magazines, journals, and newspapers for students & staff - both academic and general which not only help them with technical assistance but also refresh their minds. The staff and the students can utilize the INTERNET facility for which 10 systems have been separately allotted. The extended timings of the library are 9.00 A.M –6.30 P.M. on the weekdays as students can spend time even before and after college, and Sundays are very much student-friendly with the timings being 10.00 A.M - 4.00 P.M. The college library has been provided with the facility of an Open Access Catalogue (OPAC) which gives information on the present status of the resources i.e., the number of books issued on a student’s name, the availability of a book in the library, the books that have been issued on the day, etc., thus making things easier for both staff and students. The library maintains a soft copy of the question papers of previous exams and also the final year project work, to help students get guidance. With so many facilities being provided and with the increasing number of volumes every year, the journey for the library still seems to be going ahead.

The College has a well-equipped Teaching Learning Resource Centre for Science and Mathematics. It has various sets of science apparatus required to perform and demonstrate the experiments prescribed in the syllabus for secondary/senior secondary classes. Different materials and Chemicals are provided in the required quantity to perform necessary activities smoothly and effectively. Students learn & explore mathematical concepts & a variety the facts & theories through a variety of activities using different materials. The lab also has resources for geography subjects such as globes and maps. These activities may be carried out by the teacher or students themselves. Models and charts are prepared by the students.

The College has a Seminar Hall equipped with modern audio-visual equipment. It is an ideal place for holding seminars, training programs, co-curricular activities, etc.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has well well-equipped Computer Lab with systems with the latest configuration and is provided with High-speed Internet as per the requirements. Further, the technical specifications are upgraded continuously for effective training of the students. The laboratory is also equipped with scanning and printing facilities. The college also has Overhead Projectors, Audio Equipment, DVD Player and Television digital camera educational models, charts and CDs, and other equipment that are often used in the teaching-learning process.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The College has games facilities with a playground. The College has facilities for yoga, a small court, and indoor games. The students can avail of indoor games like chess, and carom-board & outdoor games like badminton, volleyball, and cricket.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The college has a sufficient number of neat & well, ventilated, and fully furnished classrooms and tutorial rooms for instruction. The seating arrangement is designed in a systematic way so that the organization of the seats helps the students feel more organized. The classrooms are comfortable and conducive to student learning.
