My dream college,2nd home after Medical College, Kolkata because many toppers come here. One of the best medical colleges with large campus, pond, playing ground, superspeciality hospital, separate large hostels, well equipped labs. The hospital has huge patient influx, huge no UG, PG students. It offers a lot of courses like nursing, BMLT. During my admission not so clean, but now its one of the cleanest campus. Good hygienic canteens are there.
I am a MBBS student here. The teaching facilities are awesome. Well equipped (A.C.)classroom and labs. Professor : Student is almost 1/10. Very helpful faculty members. Regular Internal assessment and other exams. Research activities are there. Overall Good academics
A lot of pass out students get a job as MO in PHC, some as housestaffs, some RMOs in Pvt. Hospitals. But as maximum students are interested in PG so not all students take jobs. A lot of them prepare for PG exams and crack it with good ranks.
It is Govt college so fees is negligible almost. It is 4500 Rs/Semester & approx 144 Rs for hostel/Semester. It is almsot comapred to free. So the course in money worthy.
The campus is 24 hours crowded with patients which is primarily seems not beautiful. But after 1 month in campus it feels good. Night life is the best. In day college hours are there, but after that inter-college sports are there. The college is behind sealdah station, very much safe place. As a tertiary hospital it can manage any emergencies. Also hostel has security and there are police in the campus from Entally P.S.
The college has became my 2nd home now. Its a inseparable part of me. The friends here, the college life, the hostel life I will miss a lot when I will pass out. I would highly recommend my college for juniors coming next years. :)
Most of the buildings are not well maintained and the washrooms are in a very bad condition. The common room is kept very unclean. The dogs can be found roaming everywhere.Lots of noice pollution from ongoing construction.
Due to online classes students teachers interaction is very less .But some teachers are really helpful and enthusiastic to teach .Exams are conducted in a timely fashion . Practical classes help us to get a better idea of the topic.
All the passouts can easily get job if they want to. Working hours are very long and payment scale of internship and residenship needs to be increased. But one can easily work in a private hospital at high rate.
It provides very cheap and convinent education in the heart of Kolkata . due to the low semester and hostel fees all the students from various background can easily afford it .Return on the Money spend is very high.
Due to the pandemic there are several restrictions and the enormous amount of patient load may sometime seem unsafe .The grond is often use for hosting different intercollege tournament .Fest and freshers are fun.
The College has great lab, classrooms and buildings.Lush greenery and trees surround the campus with a huge playground. There are several buildings of different departments but the washroom need some improvement and maintenance.
It has top educational faculties who are great in teaching and imparting knowledge. The departments are very serious about conducting the examination.Practical classes are great for learning. There's a lot of patient load to learn from.
It's the most reputable college in West Bengal and all those who pass out from here become very famous doctor. All the students are placed. Internship, housestaffship and residentship provide decent salary.
It provides very quality and affordable education with only 4.5k per semester and hostel fees only 12 rupees per month.Mess and canteen foods are affordable and you can live a very wholesome lifestyle here at a very low cost.
All the peoples around you are very helpful only few cases of ragging. The College arranges for fest and freshers along with football and cricket tournaments. The atmosphere is very fun and loving except in exam times when it's very tense.
There are tt boards, batminton courts and darts for entertainment. The library is fully air conditipned and has all the necessary books. The classroms are well maintained but often dirty. There are projectors and smart boards.
The acadrmics in our college is better than the other colleges in kolkata. The teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. The online teaching mode needs a bit of improvement as teachers tend to conduct classes anytime of the day.
The placement is highly satisfying and the money is great. But it takes a lot of time to be a established doctor. Internship and housestaff provides good money but the work honours are very high. The college is very supportive of all its students.
The cost of attending and living in the campus is very cheap. The hostel fees and mess is very cheap. The books and tution are pretty expensive but there are shortcuts in these too. The scholarships provide handsome money every year.
The hostel life is great and the seniors are pretty fun. There are games and parties for fun and group study sessions before exams. The college is quite safe and any kind of medical emergencies can be easily treates.
The college has all the necessary equipments to run a government hospital. There are badminton and basketball courts and multiple canteens. The labs are well stocked with test tubes and chemicals. The classrooms are air conditioned.
Medical has a lot of prestige attached to it and the teachers take it very seriously. Exams are conducted regularly but due to covid, the online classes are very unhelpful to the students. Internship phase makes us job ready.
Placement is for all the students. You can work in a government or private setup or even start your own startup. The college has a great reputation and one can easily seek jobs. An average student can easily earn 50k monthly.
The college is uber cheap with only 4.5k semester fees but the books and equipments are pretty expensive. There are several scholarships for the economically weaker students. The hostel and mess are also pretty cheap.
With great fests, freshers and hostel parties, the college campus life is very awesome. All the great places in town is easily accessible from the location. The seniors are super helpful and provide a safe environment for the newcomers.
It has moderately good environment...a big playground, pond, air conditioned classrooms, library, sports centres are there. Boys and girls have separate hostels. There are many canteens inside and food quality is good.
I'm pursuing MBBS. Quality of teaching is quite good. Sometimes teachers from other medical colleges come as guest lecturer. curriculum is updated and it includes recent developments. Graduation makes us job-ready.
Most of the students get their placements. In junior residency, they get Rs 35000 per month. Placement process is easy and pleasant. Results of post graduation entrance exam of the students are also good.
Course fee per semester is around Rs 4500. There are 9 semesters in MBBS. Students get their placement almost immediately after graduation and get around 35000 per it's cost effective. Our college has good reputation, so students get placements from private hospitals also.
The days of the annual college fest Ecstacy are the best. Many celebrities, musical bands come every year. Students participate in cricket, football tournament. Teachers and stuffs are friendly. College is located in sealdah which is one of the busiest place in Kolkata.
Decent when it comes to infrastructure with most of the lecture theaters being equipped with air conditioning. There is also a ewly purchased state of the art virtual dissection table. The library is pretty sweet on the looks but the book stock is slightly limited both in number and newness of editions. The operation theaters are fairly well equipped with complex operations being performed every once in a while to much acclaim from the media. Its also the only college in the city with a field.
Its nothing to write home about. Its harder to find a good professor these days than find a student excited for their semester exams (in case you're wondering I hate them) but this isnt really limited to my college. Its a countrywide thing, i'd wager. The professors are good people and great doctors but that doesnt translate to their teaching skills. That being said.. there are a few professors who are extremely knowledgeable and genuinely make you sit straight and want to attend lectures .
As far as i know the quality of placements from hereon are pretty good with a basic salary of 50k or more easily available post mbbs "generally" speaking. Hopefully you will have a place reserved for you.
4500 rupees a semester. Cheap as they come.
College is not defined by its stones or history but by its people. Ive been lucky to have met great people in my batch as well as throughout various departments in the college. The college is located in central Kolkata in the vicinity of the Sealdah station and is pretty safe and well connected. Yes it can handle emergencies and a new trauma centre is also being constructed . Support staff are brilliant and helpful and most importantly make for great invigilators
In spirit of this ..i would advice the reader to REVIEW all their choices properly before dEciding. The common saying is that mbbs will be a struggle no matter where you go ..and my college is not a bad place to fight your way to the top of the mountain.
Library is well maintained and has all relevant books. Wifi needs improvement. Playground needs special mention and is quite good. Washrooms are not maintained properly. Some canteens are quite unhygenic.
Online classes are not that fruitful and not very regularly taken. Clinical exposure are not very good. Often juniors students are not entertained in operation theatres. Teachers are very helpful and always entertains doubts.
Placements are genuinely good in our college. Every students gets to do paid internship and there are many seats for housestaffship as well. Our college is very reputed and hence students gets easy addmission.
Our college as every other government provides best quality education at very cost. Students of low socio economic strata of our society can easily afford to study in the very best institution. Many teachers teaches free of cost on online platform
Campus life is very good with many friends, helpful seniors, very good juniors. Along with studies students can get involved in various sport events, both outdoor and indoor. Location of our college is very nice.
The college and hospital has different departments catering to various medical needs of the general populous. The collge has an AC Central library, many canteens, each dept has its own lecture theatre.
The teaching faculty is nice but in pandemic situation where teaching has shifted to online media the departments are finding it a little difficult . Mostly PDFs are shared on Google classroom and doubts cleared on whatsapp group.
The placements is excellent in terms of providing internship at the hospital , rather it is compulsory to do a rotatory internship for completion of MBBS. After MBBS students may apply for housetstaffship as well. The PG ranking of the hospital is good as well. Collge has good reputation as well .
It is definitely value for money. The semester fees has been set at ₹4500 and hostel accommodation is cheap as well. There are cheap and affordable canteens also. Sealdah market is a super affordable market in the neighborhood.
The senior- junior relationship is pretty good. Everyone helps each other. There is the renowned cultural fest- Ecstasy where we have celebrations for 5 days. Previously Arman Mallick and Sonu Nigam have graced the stage. With that throughout the year we celebrate different festivities.
The infrastructure of classroom is very nice. There is almost one lecture theatre in each department with multiple projector facilities and air conditioning. There are huge lecture theatres for convocation purposes. Sound system also present for good communication.
The examinations and course completion is very up to date. But it requires little more interactive classes. Clinical exposure and ward visiting is not up to the mark. Professors and demonstrators are all good in government colleges over west bengal as they keep on circulating.
There is allotment of 100 percent students in internship. They also can apply for housestaffship over here. They are very good options for private jobs also if one passes from here. So overall the placement is good.
It is very very feasible. Only rs 4500 per semester of 6 months and rs 12 only per month for hostel. Examination charges are 1000 for University exams. Mess and canteen are also very reasonable.
The environment over here is very good. Senior junior interaction is good over here. There is no complaint of ragging too. Cultural program keeps on happening. A very good playground is there with 4 flood lights so sports tournament keep on occuring. So campus life is good over here.

If we go through last year state cut-offs for UR, then the closing rank to secure GMC was 36907 for Coochbehar Government Medical College and Hospital, hence chances for GMC is tough, though there are possibilities for government seats in private medical colleges:-
Apart from this, you also hold good chances for BDS through state quota in
however, this is completely based on previous year data, cut-offs are subjected to alter every year based on various factors such as
total number of candidates appearing for the exam
difficulty level of the paper
