Normal School and is one of the oldest institutes of learning in Silchar, Assam. The government trainer institute under it conducts a course: Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). The National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi has accredited this institution at the national level hence excellence prevails in teacher education. Normal School, Silchar, has an admission procedure with the aim of admitting suitable candidates to its D.El.Ed course to enable it to produce qualified teachers at the elementary level of education.
