North Gauhati College, Guwahati Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has Girls hostel has been constructed on the college campus, with the financial assistance of UGC. It has been functional since August 2015. The accommodation capacity of the hostel is 24. Students have to fill up separate admission forms in order to apply for hostel seats.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.

The college has library was established way back in 1962. There are separate reading rooms for students and teachers. The documents in the library are well arranged. The library is well equipped with a good number of textbooks, reference materials, xerox facilities, and internet with fully open access facilities automated with the help of library-oriented software SOUL 2.08 (software for university library) network version. All bibliographic details of books, journals and CDROM databases are accessible through the computer. It has a good number of journals (National and International) and magazines. Besides these, the different national and local newspapers (daily and weekly) are available to the user community. North Gauhati College library adequately caters to the needs of the students and teaching community. It offers an environment conducive to learning and for intellectual inquiry by providing user-focused services to obtain and access scholarly information and knowledge. The library remains open from 10 am to 4 pm on all working days.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has Swahid Dhanbar Das Auditorium, and North Gauhati College is equipped with all the necessary amenities and facilities. Besides holding programs and functions of the college, the auditorium is also at times used by the public for hosting programs beneficial for the community.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students.

The college has a big well-maintained playground, where football and cricket matches are held regularly. There is a community stage in the playground, where besides the college the nearby community also holds functions and other activities. 

Moreover, an indoor stadium is also under construction. Inter College Volleyball competition in memory of the late Ratnajyoti Sarma is hosted by the college every year.

 The College has two Xerox centers. Students, teachers, and employees of the Institution can avail the facility at a subsidized rate.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college also has a Red Ribbon Club which students can join.

The College has ICT-enabled classrooms in both Arts and Science sections.
