North Tripura District Polytechnic, Dharmanagar is an industrial training centre situated inDharmanagar, Tripura andwas started its journey in 2014. This AICTE approved government affiliated college offers the diploma courses in the field of engineering. The polytechnic is located on a 10 acres area and can admit up to 312 students with 14 members of faculties. At the present time, the institute offers only three full-time diploma programmes of the duration of three years each in Civil Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

North Tripura District Polytechnic provides a favourable environment of the learning to its students. It also provides a number of amenities to improve students’ learning process. The campus is also fully equipped with laboratories for practical experience and as we know practical as far as engineering is concern is important. A library is a storehouse of information a student needs for academic assignment to be accomplished effectively. For over all development, the institute offers sports facilities to promote physical development as well as team spirit among them. A spacious hall at the learning institution acts as a place for occasions and lectures to improve learning away from the class. The institute also has sound IT facilities to allow the students to master the rapid developments in technology. Arrangement is made to prepare and provide food to students and staff, which is served in a cafeteria to allow students and staff to relax. The polytechnic has good relations with its alumni and networking is thus made easy for the current students.

North Tripura District Polytechnic provides a small set of diploma courses all of which are complete time. The institute provides three diploma courses: Civil Engineering, Electronics Telecommunication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Each of the programmes has an approved intakes of 60 students, thus the total student intakes to the various courses sum to 180. This concentration encourages the institute to provide quality education in these core disciplines and without compromising the engineering courses offered.

The procedures of admission for students in North Tripura District Polytechnic is common and vouched for transparency. Entries to the diploma engineering courses are made through a centralised counseling system under the supervision of Central Selection Committee, formed by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Tripura. This is made possible through the use of similar procedure for all the government polytechnics in the state without discriminating the students.
