NSS College, Cherthala Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college library came into existence at the time of the establishment of the institution. It now functions with State-of-the-art facilities. It is graded by the UGC. Even though it had humble beginnings, the library now can boast of 37,450 volumes of documents.

The college has playgrounds like a Badminton court, Volleyball court, Kabadi Court, Basketball Court, Football Court, and Cricket cement pitch. We have infrastructure facilities like a weight training hall, 200ms Indoor track aerobics, Yoga, and types of equipment such as weight training equipment, a weighing machine, a chessboard with software, a carom board, and supporting equipment for almost all games. We have our college teams for Volleyball, Shuttle-Badminton, Kabadi, Weight Lifting, Powerlifting, Chess, Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, Aquatics, and Athletics.

The college has a General computer lab in the main building with 11 computers, a 2-hour UPS back-up, a DLP Projector, a white screen, internet connectivity for 24 systems, and 40 chairs, which can also be used as a multimedia-enabled E-learning room. It offers short-term computer certification courses with nominal charges to enable the students to have at most seven computer certificates along with their degrees and career-oriented presentations to make the students competent in this age of IT.

The College canteen is working near the gatehouse on the college campus on a contract basis. It provides homely meals and fast food refreshment items at fair prices fixed by the Canteen Committee.

The college has an auditorium that can accommodate 400 persons and has good ceiling works, 12 fans, and about 250 seats with writing pads. It will be used for college-level functions and examination purposes.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The College Alumni Association is not a registered society but is functioning actively. The College has various Endowments which provide a cash prize to toppers in University PG and UG examinations. The various clubs have always promoted collaborative learning and career guidance programs through seminars, workshops, etc.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The College has all the teaching departments, Office, Library, and Principal’s Office are interconnected by the LAN and have internet connections.

The College We have seven LCD/DLP projectors and an Audio system in the college to felicitate multimedia-enabled classroom teaching and virtual lab presentations for various departments.
