Our Lady's Institute of Teacher Education, Kochi, is one of the prestigious standalone institutions dedicated to shaping the future of education.  This women's college has been nurturing aspiring teachers for over seven decades. The institute, approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), maintains high standards in teacher training. The admission process at Our Lady's Institute of Teacher Education is designed to select the most qualified candidates for the teaching profession.

The institute has a merit-based admission process, following the rules and regulations of the state government or the UT administration. Currently, under the policy in existence, admissions are usually based upon the marks obtained in the qualifying examination or an entrance test.

Our Lady's Institute of Teacher Education provides only one full-time course, which is Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). It is a two-year course focusing on making the student competent to act as a teacher in early primary schools. Academic Year: June-July in most cases; the Admission process starts months before that.

Application Procedure

Degree Wise Admission Process

Degree: D.El.Ed. Diploma in Elementary Education
The D.El.Ed. program at Our Lady's Institute of Teacher Education is a two-year course designed to prepare students for teaching at the elementary level. The admission procedure for this program is based on merit, considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or an entrance examination. The institute has an approved intake of 50 seats for this course.

Eligibility criteria for D.El.Ed.:

1. Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
2. The minimum percentage required may vary and is generally decided by the state education department.
3. Only female candidates are eligible as the institute is a women's institution.

Selection Process:
