Padmashree Krutartha Acharya College of Engineering, Bargarh (PKACE) is one the leading college which was established in 2002. Affiliated with the Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, it is located in Chakarkend, Bargarh district of Odisha and has been setting up career for the aspiring engineer for more than two decades now. Located in a vast area of land 25 acres, PKACE is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education, therefore, it provides quality education to the students in the field of engineering. It has overall student enrolment of 460 and has a pool of 22 committed and competent faculties in the college. In order to cater to the various needs of engineering students, PKACE provides 5 programmes which takes two-four years to complete.

The college boasts as having offer a wide of of facilities to complement learning among the students. The campus consists of separate hostels for the boys and the girls’ and the hostels remain well equipped with all the modern facilities. The rooms are fairly large and measures ten by ten with attached lavatories. Participants utilise water and electricity throughout a day and have a pleasant opportunity to watch plasma TVs, use telephones and magazines. Hostels also organise special coaching classes and have an MBBS doctor coming in five days in a week. For academic supporting, PKACE has outfitted the organisational library and provides modern laboratories for each department. Another is by providing relevant IT infrastructure to maintain the student’s connection with the latest advance in technology. For the employees’ health, PKACE provides different facilities for playing indoor games and outdoor games and the canteen is also available which serves both veg and non-veg meals.

PKACE offers 4 full-time B.Tech programmes: Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Mechanical Engineering and one MBA programme. Each programme has an approved admission capacity of thirty students giving a total student admission capacity of ninety across the different courses offered. These programmes are intended to offer student’s strong fundamentals in their chosen areas of specialisation for thriving professional futures within the active engineering industry. The training facilited in the college, plus the modern equipments used in the college make it possible for a student to get a balanced training of theoretical and practical knowledge.

The admissions in Padmashree Krutartha Acharya College of Engineering is largely determined by performance on the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). This is the entrance examination that opens the doors to this institution for engineers from this state. In addition, the college also uses the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) for placement in any particular course.
