Post Graduate College of Science, Osmania University, Hyderabad (PGCS) is among the best institutions, offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a variety of science-related disciplines. The college has a merit-based admission process, where only the best students are chosen for their courses.

For undergraduate courses, the admission is usually done on the basis of 10+2 qualifying exam performance. The college provides several B.Sc courses with various specializations like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Statistics, and Computer Science.

For postgraduate studies, admissions are done through the Osmania University Common Entrance Test (OUCET). The prospective students need to appear for the OUCET, and admissions are allotted as per counseling done by Osmania University based on the merit achieved in the entrance test.

Application Procedure

Application process for PGCS differs depending on the course:

For Undergraduate Courses (B.Sc, BCA):

1. Visit the Osmania University website to look for admission notifications.
2. Download and complete the application form for the intended program.
3. Submit the filled-in application form along with documents required, such as 10+2 mark sheets, transfer certificate, and other supporting certificates.
4. Pay the application fee as determined by the university.
5. Wait for the merit list or counseling schedule, as the case may be.

For Postgraduate Programs (M.Sc, MCA):

1. Apply for the Osmania University Common Entrance Test (OUCET).
2. Attend the OUCET on the specified date.
3. Once the results are declared, undergo counseling process organized by Osmania University.
4. On selection, report to PGCS for admission formalities and document verification.
5. Remit the stipulated fees for finalizing the admission.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Sc: PGCS has several B.Sc courses including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry; Mathematics, Physics and Geology; Botany, Zoology and Chemistry; and several self-financed courses like Biotechnology, Computer Science, and Data Science blends. Admission is made to these courses on the basis of 10+2 marks with pre-requisites as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

M.Sc: M.Sc in Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, Mathematics, and Biotechnology are offered by the college. These courses are offered through OUCET. The candidates should have a bachelor's degree related to their field of choice to be eligible. Regular and self-financed seats for the majority of the M.Sc courses are offered.

MCA: Master of Computer Applications is available on a self-financing basis. Admission is carried out based on performance in OUCET. Students with a bachelor's degree in any field with Mathematics as a subject can apply.

BCA: The Bachelor of Computer Applications course is also provided by PGCS. Admission to the course is not specified, but probably is along the same lines as the rest of the undergraduate courses.

M.Sc Data Science: It is a self-financing postgraduate course. Admission is made through OUCET like in other M.Sc courses conducted under the college.

Required documents are normally:
