This hundred-year-old institution was founded as long ago as in the year 1950 and has been moulding young minds of women into gracious ladies for over 70 long years. Prasanna Deb Women's College, Jalpaiguri - fondly called PDWC - is the torchbearer of higher education among women in West Bengal. The college is located at the heart of Jalpaiguri on Club Road, spreading over an area of 5.43 acres with a serene and congenial atmosphere to learn. This affiliated college offers 18 varieties of courses under 5 degree programs to reach a total of 3,827 students touching upon their goal. It has a faculty strength of 73 dedicated teachers.

All of which work in concert to provide holistic education, it boasts of multifaceted facilities. The library is a powerhouse of learning and has a gigantic collection of books totalling about 31,000. These include not only the time-honoured texts but also contemporary references.
