Prasanna Deb Women's College, Jalpaiguri (PDWC)-Admissions to its undergraduate programs are done strictly on a merit basis. The college offers subjects from different disciplines such as Humanities and Sciences for the varied interest of aspiring girl students. The admission cycle commences in general after the declaration of higher-secondary (10+2) results. With regard to most of the courses, the basic eligibility criterion for the courses is that an applicant must pass the 10+2 examinations from a recognized Board. The college evaluates the candidates based on the marks obtainable in the qualifying examination and prepares a merit list. Admission into the college is highly competitive, as there are very limited seats against the mass of applicants with high merit who come to seek an admission to this college of high reputation and most deserving are admitted.

Degrees Admission Process
Bachelor of Arts- PDWC provides BA programs in various disciplines such as Bengali, English, History, Political Science, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Economics, Education, and Geography. The admission to the BA courses is purely on a merit basis, with an overall intake of 1039 seats for the BA programs. However, specific honors courses such as BA English Honors, BA History Honors, and BA Political Science Honors have an intake of 147 each.
Bachelor of Science- The college offers B.Sc programs in Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry. Admission to these courses is also merit-based. The B.Sc Mathematics Honors program has an intake of 41 seats while other science courses like B.Sc Botany Honors, B.Sc Zoology Honors, B.Sc Physics Honors and B.Sc Chemistry Honors have 31 seats each.
BBA- PDWC BBA program has 49 seats. The admission process for this course is likewise merit-based.
B.Sc Computer Science Honors- The program has a limited intake of 15 seats, and the admission is done on a merit-based selection.
