Quli Qutub Shah Government Polytechnic is one of the leading technical colleges in Hyderabad need to be located in the Old city and was established in the year 1985. One of the oldest government-owned polytechnic institutes which was established to train technical minds is located in vast 8.7 acre campus at Jalahalli. Recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the institute provides a cross section of diploma courses for a changing world. This polytechnic thus teaches 1,095 students with 37 faculty members which guarantees that students are offered much attention.

In total Quli Qutub Shah Government Polytechnic has 6 full-time diploma courses where each course is for a period of three years. The institute offering a number of academic courses that are popular engineering disciplines like Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering. Apart from this, it has a special programme in Printing Technology to meet the demands of a specific industry, the printing industry. The total approved intake of all the courses is 540 students per year, out of which Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering intakes are 120 students each.
