Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic, Chamba: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic at Chamba, is an affiliated college, set up in 2007, situated at Banikhet, Himachal Pradesh. ESTABLISHED BY: This is a government institute with approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and provides technology education from its 7.5 acres beautiful campus. It admitted 193 students in total assuming maximum enrollment while the faculty strength of the polytechnic is 6 which makes the chance of focused learning possible. Currently, the institute teaches two diplomas, Civil and Electrical Engineering, for students who want to get the professional outlook on their studies.

The polytechnic thus boasts of number of features that are meant to improve the experience of the students. A full fledged library is in place having the collection of 290 titles 1528 volumes along with 10 technical journals to?! Updating the knowledge of the students with latest improvements. In terms of hostels, the university has provided sexes’ hostels hence providing enough accommodation to student from different parts of the country. The computing equipment that complements it include a computer laboratory equipped with core-2-duo systems, local area networks with 2 Mbps internet access on wireless fidelity. The college also has well equipped Physics, Chemistry and Communication Skills laboratories to meet actual physical learning needs.

RGGP, Amravati currently operates two competency based full time diploma courses each of duration of three years. The Diploma in Civil Engineering and Diploma in Electrical Engineering programmes each have an approved intake of 40, and with the corresponding Diplomas each being a 80 seat programme. These programmes are meant to give the students a strong footing about the subject that they are undertaking so that they fit well into technical positions. These two areas of engineering are the foundation of the polytechnic and show that it wants to meet the needs of the societies to produce more engineers in these fields.

Unfortunately, the exact steps of the admission process are not clear, however, applicants normally undergo some basic requirements that include qualifying for admission in to the institute and meeting technical education board requirements of the state.
