Ravi Mahato Smarak Teachers Training College is an affiliated college founded in 2011 and is located in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. This co-educational institute specialises in teacher education, offering two full-time courses that are B.Ed and D.EL.Es. Affiliated with the Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University, Dhanbad, NAAC accredited and recognised by NCTE, the college is situated in a confined area of 0.9 acre only. The total student strength of the institute is 57 while the faculty strength is 16, therefore institute has the student faculties ratio. The programmes offered at college can be traced from its vision and annual plan of focusing on quality education and training teachers to be professional one.

Ravi Mahato Smarak Teachers Training College has assembled numerous amenities that are deemed to facilitate the learning process of the students. RTT College offers two main programmes both of which are two year, full time programmes. In all cases, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.Ed) programmes have a sanctioned strength of 100 and a total sanctioned capacity of 200 across all courses. These are progammes that aim at giving the students the necessary skills and knowledge to practice teaching at a professional level. It is necessary to note that a significant portion of the college’s mission is oriented to prepare teachers which helps to contribute to the development of the qualified staff in the region.

The enrolment procedure of the Ravi Mahato Smarak Teachers Training College is also based on merit, in as much as the previous examination results of the learner accepted for training. In case of B.Ed programme, merit list is determined based on marks secured in the Graduation or Post Graduation respectively. The candidates who involving in the State and National level Games or having NCC Certificates with ‘B’ or ‘C’ Level are also given weightage. Following the marks scored at most and up to the +2 level or an equivalent examination, the merit list of the D.El.Ed programme is prepared. Candidates who make it through are expected to fully go through the admission process within a given period to be able to get a chance to be admitted. The college follows the high level of transparency, and the list of all the candidates selected for the respective courses is usually pinned in the college notice board as well as posted on the college website.
