Salbari College, Salbari was started in the hinterland of Dakshin Dinajpur in 1983 as an affiliated college. This co-educational institution sprawls over a campus of 23.7 acres providing a peaceful atmosphere for learning. The institution currently has a total student strength of 1,216 and is supported by a dedicated faculty of 29 members.

Quite a number of facilities have been implemented at Salbari College to enrich the general learning experience of students. The library is one of the important academic resources in the college, which is equipped with a fairly good collection of text books and reference materials. Besides, subscriptions are made available to various important magasines, journals, and newspapers. A room has been separately arranged as a reading room to provide a quiet atmosphere for focused study. Computer facilities and e-library are being developed on par to keep pace with modern educational needs. A girls' hostel for 80 boarders is also provided with a safe, comfortable living environment. Equipped with 50 computers, a computer laboratory also exists as an afterthought in the increasing necessity of IT skills in education. 

Salbari College offers 9 courses across 2 degrees, with the majority being specialisations in the Bachelor of Arts BA programs. From its commitment to quality education, the range of its honors courses in English, Assamese, Bodo, Political Science, Education, History, Economics, and Philosophy is variegated.

The admission into Salbari College will be based on merit, and the procedure for the same is governed by Gauhati University and Bodoland University. Prospective students are evaluated through academic performance in the past examinations.
