Sankrail Anil Biswas Smriti Mahavidyalaya, established in the year 2007, is an affiliated college located in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. It has a campus of 7.28 acres and offers 9 courses in 3 degrees, mostly concentrated on arts and humanities. SABSM is NAAC accredited, and has a total enrollment of students at the undergraduate level of 849. The faculty strength is 7 in number, and different specializations in Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, and Political Science are offered.

The college works to provide an atmosphere conducive to learning for its students. The library is well-stocked with over 5,000 books, based on an open-access system, and students are free to take books from this room. The campus has a vast playground for outdoor games like cricket and football; this helps in the physical fitness of students and inculcates team spirit. In keeping pace with the ever-changing technologies, SABSM has set up an ICT room with computers and internet facilities, The college also provides Wi-Fi internet connections throughout the major part of its campus. There is a canteen that provides refreshments, hygienic and reasonably priced, for students' convenience. Further, the health center is attached with first-aid facilities and a gymnasium for the well-being of the students.

The process of admission to Sankrail Anil Biswas Smriti Mahavidyalaya is merit-based. For courses on Honours subjects, merit points will be calculated by adding 10% of the aggregate marks obtained in the best five subjects at the Higher Secondary (H.S) or equivalent examination to the marks obtained in the concerned subject or related subject in which admission is sought. Applicants shall have passed two language subjects, one of which has to be English, at the H.S. Examination.
