Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics, or SAMSOE, was established in the year 2010 as a constituent college of NMIMS University, based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This co-educational institution specializes in economics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Situated at Vile Parle West, a very happening area, SAMSOE has risen to be one of the prominent institutions for studying economics. With a faculty strength of 9, this school provides the environment for career pursuits in economics and various related fields. The two main degree programs are B.Sc Economics and M.Sc Economics, catering to students at different academic levels.
The SAMSOE has a variety of modern facilities to support its academic attempts. The classrooms in the college are Wi-Fi-enabled with computers, LCD projectors, and sound systems, which provide an interactive environment for the learning process. A library with a huge collection of textbooks and reference books is one of the basic building blocks of the institute's facilities. Students can also access various online academic journals such as EBSCO, JSTOR, and Proquest Central, in addition to some special databases like CRISIL, CMIE: Economic Outlook, Capitoline, and Indiastat, that are found to be very useful for research activities.
The Institute also has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls that are comfortable, along with all basic facilities and some added services, especially for accommodation requiring special facilities. It also maintains sports equipment and hires nearby grounds for various sporting events, thus inculcating a balanced outlook in its students towards education and physical well-being. Programs at Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics are concentrated yet exhaustive.
The institute offers two full-time courses: a three-year B.Sc Economics and a two-year M.Sc Economics. The Institute's programmes are tailored to equip students with a good knowledge base in the theory of economics and its applications. As approved, the intake capacity of 30 for this M.Sc Economics course is ensuring a very favourable student-to-faculty ratio and personalised attention. Intake on this count has not been mentioned for the B.Sc course, but the structure of both courses is such that it ensures high-quality education in economics.
The admission process at SAMSOE is designed to pick from the best talent that seeks admission into its programs. Every applicant to the B.Sc. Economics programme will have to take an online test, NPAT (NMIMS Programmes After Twelfth). This entrance test is an important part of the selection process and is designed to test a candidate's ability and being ready for studying strict economics. The M.Sc Economics Programme has an entrance test under NMIMS specifically designed to assess candidates' advanced knowledge and expertise in economics.
These admission procedures are meant to ensure that the institute has very high academic standards and allows only well-prepared students into its different programmes. Although there are no specific admission dates given, interested candidates should be regularly checking the institute's website or contacting the admissions office to obtain current information on application deadlines and exam schedules. Its association with NMIMS University makes the degrees of SAMSOE valuable and multiplies the career potential of its graduates within the economics profession.

Great infrastructure with state of the art classrooms, labs, library, cafeteria. Free access of multiple databases which aids learning and development. Our college is in the glass building so facilities wise it was really amazing.
Hi Vartika
The answer to you question if you ask in simple words is NO. You can not take transfer in second year from one university to another, you will have to reappear for admission test and procedures and start all again if from first year if you really want to change your university. However, if you want to change your course and study in your same university then it may happen but it is very very difficult rather I would say it is almost impossible, you can request your university management if they would consider your demand to change your course (which they are most likely to refuse) only then something can happen . You can not go to any other university just by getting transferred in second year.
I hope this answer resolved your query.
Narsee Monjee , Christ and Symbiosis are some of the best colleges in the country . Studing in these colleges in one of the best opportunities that you can get . The fees is hefty though, as compared to other colleges. I would suggest you to take admission in Du colleges which are the top most collegees for economics. However these colleges also have good environment , opportunities and peer group.
Hello aspirant,
Hope you are doing absolutely great.
So, with regard to your query, the fee structure for BSc economics in Narsee Monjee College is INR 67.93k per three years. However, this is only the tuition fee, the hostel fee is again different., it depends upon the accommodation you choose.
Hope this helps you,
Thank you.
