There are many clubs which are called student chapters and they organize, many events each month and each Wednesday there is "WOW WEDNESDAY" in which extra curriculum activity is performed. Apart from that, there is an annual fest organized by the university called "urja" in which singers and celebrities are invited. Students can easily take part in such events or these clubs, also seniors will contact juniors as soon as they have their freshers.
I opted for a Chemical engineering specialization in refining and petroleum as the universities have one of the greatest placement all around the country. Most of the teacher qualifies for masters and doctorates and teachers are so friendly with students with not just academics but personal problems too. Exams are conducted in 2 halves mid semesters and end semesters and it is easy to pass the exams if student focuses on teachers guidelines.
Students are eligible for applying for pre-placement from the 3rd year, also they would have campus placement which is available in the 4th year or you can say in the 8th semester. Some of the greatest companies like "Reliance, Berger, Amazon, Nestle, Aditya Birla Group, Hyundai, Godrej, and many more". University has a placement of more than 90% also dependent on the course you opt for in the university.
There are two food cafe which are quite good and are available at a very reasonable price. Also, there are a lot of food cafes just outside the college main GATE. The library too is quite good and quite spacious and there are number and whole variety of books.
Course curriculum is outdated as per my opinion. And there are some unnecessary additional subjects which are just there for the formalities. Talking about the faculty, they're quite knowledgeable and helpful, But there is a lack in number of faculty members. There were some faculty members who taught us different courses in different semesters.
Not many of my seniors opted for college placement as they wanted to study further. Or were preparing for off campus job or government job. But, some who were hard working and tried for the placement they got good offers. And some even got selected in multiple companies.
The infrastructure is very good. There are all the facilities provided that a college should have. The campus has Wi-Fi, various labs, well-designed classrooms and library. Rooms are not very clean but still we all have to manage. Food are not having so much quality as expected. We will advise someone to take pg instead of hostel. Registration process is very easy .
Since I was having an interest in the computer and the program such as C, I studied Java in class 10 11 and 12 so I am familiar with the program. RCE campus has around 40 faculties with properly qualified in their various fields. It has around 1000 students. These faculties are very interactive with the students and help students to solve their doubt. Exams are of the medium level if you have concentrated from the beginning. The marking scheme is also a little bit tough.
According to me, about 70% of students were placed in my course. The highest package is 43 Lakh and the average package is 7.95 Lakh. Top recruiting companies for my course are Shell, Halliburton, Infosys, Reliance etc. 90% of students got internships from my course in Wipro and many other companies. Top roles offered in our course is product manager, production engineer.
Our college has a great infrastructure and is situated in the beautiful mountains of Dehradun. It has a beautiful building and campus. Best facilities are available on the campus for students. A high-speed Wi-Fi facility is available. There are well-maintained labs and a library for students. There are the best sports facilities, a huge playground and delicious food.
There are the best, helpful and highly qualified faculty members. They have extremely good teaching quality. The course curriculum is awesome, and it has interesting subjects to learn, which will be helpful in the future. Artificial Intelligence (AI) makes it possible for machines to learn from experience and adjust to new inputs and perform tasks like a human.
According to the placement records, around 94-95% of the students got placed from our college. The highest salary package offered here is 36 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Many companies. In summer breaks also, students are allowed to join social internship in 1st year.
I was very fascinated to learn coding and artificial intelligence, so I choose this course despite the money they are taking. The course curriculum and teaching is good but amount is high if it could be slightly lower it would be a great package.
Fests and many events are organized here, and many clubs are also formed for students to showcase their talents. Scholarships are available for students. Also, each Wednesday is "WOW Wednesday" where extra curricular activities are conducted by students like dance, painting exhibition, etc. Students can easily access the books from the liberty and can issue books with the help of their identity card for free and have to return after a duration of time.
The college infrastructure is top-notch. Modern buildings and a great cafeteria is available. The labs have all the necessary equipment. The quality of food in the hostel is great. There is an infirmary in the college providing all the first-aid necessary.
The college has extremely supportive faculty willing to clear all the doubts and answering all questions you have. The course curriculum is always updated to be relevant to the time and situation. It makes the students industry-ready. The teaching quality is amazing, and the faculty are knowledgeable.
The placement percentage is more than 90% which is a nice number. Packages offered are ranging from 10-25 lacs per annum. It is a great course to pursue. Companies like L&T, Hindustan Petroleum, HCL, Wipro and others come here to recruit students. Junior developer, assistant developer, are some of the roles offered.
The yearly fees will nearly be about 1.8 lacs and that of hostel depends upon the choice you made. They provide a decent experience which is worth according to my understanding. Though the fee structure is quite complex and can be a high to some students so watch it.
Life at the campus is very good. You are surely going to enjoy the environment here. There is a library in the hostel that contains a large number of books that you can use to enhance your knowledge. Moreover, the college has certain clubs and organizes sports & extra-curricular activities twice a week. Events and fests are also stunning.
UPES provides you with the beauty of nature as well as the great work environment. Surrounded with the hills, UPES is having two campuses namely, Bidholi and Kandoli. The campuses give the best and enthralling essence of nature. It is having seven schools under it, and have at least one building for each schools.
Well when it comes to UPES we have a really great and cooperative faculty and academic is not that bad and have good ambience of studies. We have certain certified branches which I have interest. Some teachers are very kind and some are very rude. So, academic will stand somewhere in between because it's the academics who makes a university a good university.
No, the campus placements would continue to be very much the same where handful would get good jobs while the rest would either remain jobless or do low paying jobs. Students pursuing CS/IT related courses can get referrals in off-campus drives for the top product based companies while studying at some other university as well. I can't recommend anyone to take admission here because placements aren't good.
Waste, paying such high fees and what you get in return? Nothing equal to fees you have paid. Most of the companies visiting campus offers packages around 3-5 LPA which is too low in today's world. Talking about how many companies visit campus more than 10 LPA are only limited to single digit. During my time only 4 visited. If you have 5 colleges then keep this college at last because they take very high amount and don't provide that worth to you.
It offers you specializations in various fields, that give you exposure to the latest techniques. Masterclasses, frequent webinars, and seminars are delivered by experts from all over India, and industrial visits are organized for the students. They are providing 25% scholarship on tuition fees for girls only and I don't know why not for boys they have the same thing.
Facilities are very good here, and there is a good food court. Our college has a huge sports playground with equipment for almost all games. There is a huge library, and the entire college is situated in between mountains, so there is a great view. The infrastructure is top-class, and students studying here are from different states and countries. The quality of the food served is very good.
All the teachers here are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Every teacher is best in their field of specialization. Their teaching quality is also very good as they conduct best-in-class practicals and hands-on. Faculty members are very helpful and great. The course follows the latest trends in technologies with specialization in the latest technology domains. It makes students industry-ready.
About 94% of the students got placements from our course. The highest salary package offered was 45 LPA. Top recruiters for our course were TCS, Infosys, Hitachi, HCL, Nagarro, ZS Associates, Cognizant, TTN, etc. Students got internships in Foxmula, Blitz, TTN, WatchGuard, Wipro, VMware, Rakuten, etc. Top roles offered here were junior developer, associate developer, programmer trainee, BTA jobs and project manager.
Yes, they are giving the quality which is required as a student. A nice campus, a great environment, a spacious library, classrooms, washrooms, and also providing a decent package which a student wish for. Money is high if you compare it with other colleges but it's not that they are not giving worth for your money. It's worth studying here.
Campus life is good. There is a lot of greenery and a fresh atmosphere. The annual fest is happening in college students can take part in many activities. Library facility is available students can borrow books for whole semester almost every book is available there. The classroom is well maintained. Sports are available for students such as Volleyball, Badminton, and football, etc. Many extra-curricular activities happen on-campus students can take part accordingly.
Classrooms are okay not too good. Labs are okay and libraries are just okay irrespective of the hefty money we pay. Campus hostel is the worst and too expensive, food is the worst, bathroom is shared by six on one floor, laundry guys charges for each cloth which means laundry is not included in the hefty hostel fee. Medical facilities are not good, they just ask to buy medicines from outside like why are you there then when we have to buy medicine from pharmacy only why do you even exist?
Teachers just exist like this is some side job, they are not serious about our future. Teachers have average knowledge and no guidance or support could be expected, this is a capitalist world. It makes student average not ready for anything. Course curriculum is relevant. But teachers hardly teach properly and after online classes have begun it is just for formality.
About placements, on paper, it is claimed that 94% of placements were given but I don't think it's true. The highest and the lowest packages were 15 Lacs per annum and 4 lacs per annum. IBM, Wipro, Infosys, TCS are the top companies that visited. Most students got internship under tech companies which is nice.
I choose it believing I would get to know a lot and learn technology from good teachers. It never happened here. Please be a little logical, serious and helpful about learning it would be a great help. Events are not so good. Campus is okay. Crowd is diverse but not bright Scholarship is equal to nothing at all Extra curriculum activities are basic. So, I just can't say that it's worth your money.
The annual fest which is held by the university is UURJA in which all the university from both the campus take part, Also there are small events like sports events and many more conducted by the university. Talking about clubs; there are many clubs for all the branches which conduct their won small events and encourage students to take part in them for their skill development as well as for fun.
First when I seen it I didn't believe it that a private college has such a nice library. UPES library consists of more than one lac books, which is quite thing for students. As a Computer Science student it feels great to work on the systems in the labs. The configuration on the system are just great. They provide Linux to work on. Unlike it's location UPES has provided a wonderful sports equipment and facilities. They also have many sports events going on every month to keep students active.
UPES has a very good reputation for its studies. Although some times they overdo but this is also for the sake of students and their reputation. There syllabus is updated every year to get better education to students. Since last past one year what I faced that UPES faculties are just ok they guide you, motivates you in every step although there are not many highly qualified among them but still some of them are quite good. This one is my own personal experience.
UPES placement is in fact, amazing. However, you have to work hard to get placed in one of the MNCs that come in the college every year. I have seen a lot of my batchmates bad mounting the university when it comes to being placed, even though they didn't prepare for it.
Yes indeed it is value of you money. The money is bit is high if we compare with other colleges but not that much after all it requires money to run a university and provide this quality in a private college. It have teachers from IITs so I think it's worth it to invest your money for doing graduation here.
Most universities only care about finishing off the syllabus before the semester ends. I understand how important that is, but it leaves no space for any industry based knowledge. However, in UPES, there are plenty of guest lectures, industrial visits, projects, debates, and much more. This helps the student experience the industry of their course of choice firsthand.
The university is located amidst the picturesque Himalayas in Dehradun. The location is great as the university is secluded and spacious. In winters, the place becomes even more beautiful and becomes a perfect setting to study with your warm tea. The university is secluded from the city making it free from the hustle-bustle and commotion.
The faculty at UPES is the most helpful bunch of educators I have ever come across. The professors understand that most of us are away from our homes and tend to get homesick often. There have been times that many teachers have comforted and taken care of students when they are going through a rough patch. Also, the teachers are willing to help you at any time when you need them for anything curriculum related. The teachers go out to their way to clear out any doubts even after the class.
Many people on this thread might not know that UPES is the only and the first university in the nation to be awarded QS 5 stars for employability. UPES has a fantastic placement cell with companies like HCL, IBM, TCS and many more that hire multiple students every year. The students also get offered an excellent salary package and a reputable position in the company.
Rarely any other universities in India take the effort of providing its students with industrial exposure. However, UPES gives students industrial exposure in the form of industrial visits, guest lectures, projects, workshops and much more. So, I will say that it's worth your money. I would say that they are giving the amount of exposure for the money they are taking from us.
Thanks to UPES, I kickstarted my career with a great organization through the university placement process. Also, I recently read that UPES has partnered with some global academic institutes to provide students who were unable to get placed, a chance to study abroad. The best part is that UPES will bear the cost of education. Also, the fests, events, tournaments they organize on a large scale and involve students to organize them.
The hostel fees of school of computer science University of petroleum and energy studies is 1.57 lacs per year. The hostel fees can rise up to 1.98 lacs per annum according to the number of facilities you choose. This includes the mess fees as well. There are various other facilities as well provided to the students. These facilities are internet, 24 hours electricity and water supply. Power backup system is also there. The hostel rooms are distributed on sharing and single basis. The hostel also provides cooler facilities water purifier, geyser etc.

Hi Aparna, there are a variety of scholarships offered by colleges in different regions. Based upon the quota that they have could be primarily SC-ST quota, Minority quota, Females from a financially weak background and so on. To apply for these scholarships, they demand for some legal documents such as OBC certificate and so on.
If you could be sharing more information about the college you're looking ahead to join, then would let you know the best.
Till then hope this helps.
Thanks.
