School of Hotel Management, Sri Satya Sai University of Technology and Medical Sciences, Sehore, is one of the constituent college affiliated to the university set up in 2012. The co-educational school is sited at Sehore, Madhya Pradesh and occupies a hundred acres of land. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, so, official educational standard is maintained to provide quality education in the field of hotel management. The institute has employed a faculty force of 12 qualified and committed members and delivers a concentrated course curriculum in hospitality education. The school offers only one programme of study; the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT), from which the school has been approved to enrol 60 students each year which means that the school respects the student-teacher ratio.
School of Hotel Management has several fine amenities to advance the learning capacity of their students in whatever field they offer. The school has the hostels for boys and girls with facilities like reading rooms, areas for indoor games, lounges and dining hall. The boys hostel can house two hundred and fifty two students while the girls hostel can only hold one hundred. An academic library and 18 branch libraries provide a stock of reference, text and international journals with an electronic access to selected e-journals. It also has campus hospital include Operation Theatre, Labour Room, Out Patient Department and Indoor Patient Department to safeguard health of the campus community. The school has modern and well-equipped Laboratories and workshops for hand on practical training. Volleyball, basketball, tennis, and other fields along with a gym for the overall well-being of students are present and the Training & Placement Cell that helps students in their respective career paths.
The School of Hotel Management offers a single full-time course, the Bachelor of Hotel management and Catering Technology abbreviated as BHMCT. It is a four year programme which the will afford the students adequate knowledge and skills in the hospitality industry. The course has an approved intake of 60 seats which makes it easy for the instructors to focus on the students as well as their course work.
Admission requirement of the BHMCT programme in the School of Hotel Management would ensure that motivated students are enroled. It is to be expected that the institute takes into consideration the performance of the candidates in 10+2 or equivalent examination, particularly the stream of candidates with their knowledge in certain subjects that are allied to hospitality management. Since the school is AICTE accredited, the centre may also recognise scores from other national level entrance tests to hotel management courses.
