School of Studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences is affiliated with Jiwaji University and is situated inGwalior city of Madhya Pradesh state. The creation of this institution dates back to the year 1964 and has been producing qualified learned pharmacist for nearly sixty years. As an affiliated college, it runs under the umbrella of Jiwaji University, it is catering the need of specialised education in the field of pharmacy. The school has been accredited by well reputed organisation including the All India Council Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) to make sure that the school sets a high standard in its operations.
School of Studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences has various facilities that aims at improving students learning experience within the institution. The library center plays a role in a capacity of a source of information on a wide range of pharmaceutical literature and research. Sports enthusiasts can opt for the floodlit basketball and tennis courts, volleyball courts and pitch for hockey, football, cricket at the Mahadji Scindia Sports Complex. A modern gymnasium namely Madhav Rao Scindia Gymnasium is also an added feature of this university. The Computer Centre was started in 1988 which was upgraded as per the growing computer requirement of the students and the centre provides internet facilities and supports different computerised courses.
The courses provided by the School of Studies in Pharmaceutical Sciences are basically drawn from a limited range of the pharmaceutical context. At present, the institution provides 4 full-time programmes, a four-year programme, Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma), and two two-year Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) programmes in Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy. The B.Pharma programme with a duration of four years has an intake capacity of one hundred students and each M.Pharma specialisation with two year’s duration has a capacity of ten students. This structured approach enables close follow up and quality delivery of education to intending pharmacists and researchers.
